This is done all wrong. You hook up the receiver to the camera. Then you plug zoom into transmitter where the lapel mic plugs in. That will transmit to the camera. It will also record to SD in the zoom and can also have back up on the transmitter in 32bit float from the zoom mics

I don’t know anyone that uses the stock reflector on the 300, 400, or 600 line they are only good for protecting your bulb or shooting into an umbrella. I have a 600bm and an SE they both work the about the same with my mods. I would have much rather seen how it compares to the 600 pro . What’s more is the SE is almost the same price of the 400 which in my opinion is the worst out of all the Godox Flashpoint Monolights for the price. Adorama actually had this flash at $409 for Black Friday which is a steal. New interface 600 pro bulb and a battery that doesn’t brick like the 400/600 pro batteries sometimes do. I think it’s a great deal .
@tonyroscaphotography22 күн бұрын
The difference between SE and ProII is the TTL option. I agree its a good deal price wise. But heavy and the output gain compared with 200,300-400 its not that much. It works good for me on long session .

with this setup you have only 1 stereo track If you want to have two individual mono tracks (witch is what I do), you will need a spliter cable to convert a p2 TRX to two P10 mono channels. I prefer two individual mono over a single stereo because it is better for correcting audio and to edit the video, if it is an interview.

The 600SE stock reflector has a 180° spread of light, while the AD200 reflector you compared has 45° spread of light. It would be a more fair comparison if you used the reflector from your original AD600 on the 600SE
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
I agree about the reflector not performing well. If you use a long throw reflector on both flashes the ad600 outperforms ad200 . They should have a standard metal reflector on it not a cheap plastic one . The power output even on the bare bulb test is not that much and the extra weight and size its not worth the hassel . I have few 600s and use them only for long hours shoots special on products and sometimes I " force " myself to use them on portraits.
@ihashupАй бұрын
@@tonyroscaphotography Yes the 600SE has a frosted bulb on the front where the AD200 does not so it scatters light even more which explains the results. You are definitely right though if you are not using modifiers of any sort the AD200 can pack a punch or even be combined with other AD200s to pack even more of a punch at a much smaller size and lighter weight.
@leophotobp27 күн бұрын
@@ihashup For those interested, a reading without a reflector, the AD200Pro is at 11.7 and the AD600ProII is at 22.6... now that is a real comparison...

The R5 has the settings for face detecting and flash? [Eval (FacePrty)] is the light meter necessary?
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
Sometime the light meter its a better choice special when flash is used . The meter gives you the precise settings if you calibrated with your camera . The preview on the camera its just a jpeg and its not a precise capture of what you got if you shoot raw . If you shoot jpegs its fine just with the camera built in meter . But is not absolutely necessary to use a light meter all the time . I preferred to shoot tethered for more precise evaluation of the images , being used with a meter helps me to get the settings on camera and lights fast .

I'm surprised that you got that grip on the round head of the godox! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpuoioWnn52nj68

That rubber grip fits the round head . In my opinion it is a bit too tight and too strong for a flash like V1 .

You said something interesting at the end about feathering the light. I think I may have stumbled on that recently doing a portrait of a fellow student when I turned the softbox to the side, away from him, and the light got really pretty. I don't recall hearing about feathering light before.
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
Feathering the light of a softbox is a technique where you use the edge of the light, rather than the center, to create a softer and more even illumination. Practically minimizes hotspots. Let me know if you have any questions about it !

Kind of an interesting product, but why keep it so compact when you have to bring C-Stands and large modifiers anyway to make it look good as a keylight? Seems like investing in a flexible LED-matte type light would be the better choice in this case.
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
I like the c stands stability and it just happened to be on my arms reach 🤳with cstands and boom arms you have more diverity in light placement than with a regulat stand too.

The matte type of light it is in general more expensive and the controller weights a ton and you need a c stand for sure

can this be paired with a godox ad200 pro ii?
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
Yes, the Godox AD200 features optical slave modes, specifically S1 and S2. In S1 mode, the flash triggers upon detecting any primary flash, making it suitable for manual flash setups. S2 mode is designed to ignore pre-flashes from TTL systems, ensuring the AD200 fires in sync with the main flash. But you need to rely only on Manual mode and you only can trigger it but any changes in power output you need to adjust on fkash directly . The TTL will not work. Its better to keep the same brand and control all the flashes with one remote trigger
@VisionQuestPLURАй бұрын
@tonyroscaphotography guess ill get the v1 pro then was hopping to save money and have easier interface weird they didn't apply on pro v1 because I have the as 200 pro ii and it's far way easier to navigate like this z2 and same visual screen

By the way, if you control your flash output by your aperture, just keep in mind aperture is one of two settings that controls both flash and ambient light equally, the other one being ISO. I wouldn't use aperture to control flash if I want to keep my depth of field the same from shot to shot. Best to use the power settings on your flash or move the light.
@tonyroscaphotographyАй бұрын
I was shooting for depth of the field , to keep the background in focus because i liked the clouds and between f4-f8 there is no discernible difference. So in my application was the the way to go because the aperture was controlling the ambient too and was the way to go for that instance . If you shoot at open aperture like F 1.2 - F2.8 you adjust the power on your flash if you want to keep the shallow depth of the field . Cheers
