Hearing his results of additional regions definitely tells the story of the migration patterns of Indigenous and African people.

You guys have to remember the history of both Spain and the Spanish Colonies. Spain was ruled by the Moors (Arabs from Northern African) for around 400 years. When the Spanish colonized the Americas, there was a lot of moving back and forth also there was a lot of moving back and forth in the Mediterranean so it's not unusual for someone from Spain to have DNA that is found in Sicily and for someone in Sicily to have DNA that is found in Spain. I actually know a guy who is Italian American whose third or fourth grandfather was from Spain and moved to Sicily. Also, trace amounts could be missreads and unassigned means that they can't pinpoint where that DNA is from. Remember the regions where your DNA is from is a scientifically educated estimate now your DNA relatives are related to you because they share segments of the same DNA and those are accurate. So as someone who was adopted, please, if someone who is trying to find out who they are, help them but be careful because if they are genuine, they will not ask for money.

So you understand. The results show people that match your DNA In those areas currently. For instance I know that no one in my family is Asian. Someone came up 1%. Found out a family member was in the military and took test and dwells in a certain place in Asia. Let’s use your results. Spain and Portugal took part in the slave trade. If they had your great great grandmother as a wife and had children with her, the Spaniards DNA will have matches showing in Spain if their family members still reside there. Let’s take your Morocco result, Many of my friends from Ghana and Senegal travel from Morocco to Spain all of the time. It’s like a one hour Ferry ride. In the 1500’s people still use the same route. So you may have African relatives that share your DNA that still reside in Spain or Morocco that took the test but are jet black so called Africans. The wisest wisdom to use To determine your pedigree is read Numbers 1:18 which states your pedigree is determined by your father. Search that lineage and you will know your pedigree. If your father go back to Taino you are Taino. If it go back to the slave masters of Spain or Portugal, you are of their pedigree.

🙏🏾 Please build your family trees and follow the documents. The percentages are more akin to guessing. Read the documents attached to your ancestors, talk to your dna matches -family, and tell YT your findings. We have 128 5th great-grandparents EACH. DNA percentages said I'm like 80% African. Uh, we have no ancestors from Africa in my family going back to the 1200s on *some lines. I have all sorts of documents. My family is: Peedee Indian, Paspahegh, Ginkaskin, Sapponi, Pamunkey, Lumbee, Monacan, Grandville, Powhatan, Algonquin *tribe (Canada), and few more Indian tribes. But we're also: French, Scottish, Irish, Dutch (Netherlands), German, English, Spanish, Italian, and Norwegian. - We're related to Presidents John Adams, John Q Adams, Fillmore, and Taft (Squire line). My ancestor, Peregrine White b. 1620, was the first baby boy born on the Mayflower (a Pilgrim). My family was one of the first to settle in Spanish Texas with Stephen F. Austin (Old Three Hundred), and much more! But you find this type of info through your ancestors' documents. My kids (adults now) are half Boriqua. They're Figueroa(s) from Santulce, PR. Keep going, and good luck ❤

I think it is stupid when people act so racist by being excited about the African, but not the European.
@ldsweettee18 күн бұрын
I don't think they're trying to be racist. It's usually a given with having European blood if you know the history in the americas and the Caribbean. A lot of the Spanish speaking people of the americas don't acknowledge their african ancestry or talk about it. I think the excitement is just validation of something they may have thought but was unsure.

For the life of me, IN GENERAL, I don't really understand if people studied even basic history, how they are always like OH MY GOD, I have African in me, how is that even possible. Slave trade was a large horrible global affair, and ports were in America, Europe, Africa, South America, all these places. A lot of slaves were taken advantage of, and there was of course a lot of mixing of cultures/races by choice after, so it shouldn't be this huge surprise. It's nice to see someone celebrate it. I think whatever your make-up, and however you came to be, it should be something to celebrate, even if it came from rough circumstances, because it's who we are, it's how we all got here, and it's a part of us. Thanks for sharing your genetic story. So many places around the world, it's beautiful.

Among even Colombus journeys were Moriscos who were Moors, often mixed North African and Spaniard but also Arab/Arab-Spaniard mixed, who converted to Christianity. It was Portugal, Spain, and Sicily were Africans has ruled from 711 to 1492. The Black people who remained were those who converted to Christianity. Your Senegambia DNA also is likely from that same North African source.@@RodriguezPadillafamily

23 & me website lists Indigenous American areas tested and Columbia River Basin is one of them. Your Caribbean would be Puerto Rico. I don't know why they have it mixed. I am mixed European and Iberian Peninsula and found that the small amount of Italian came from the Azores (Portugal). Your undetermined 1.4% might be found if you upload your test from 23 & Me to the GEDCOM which will give you more specific details but you might have to hit the World History books again to find out how it got there. You will have to make an account which cost nothing the last time I used it. I used Ancestry and did find two surprise cousins the family kept secret because they both contacted me wanting to know who their parents were.
