I grew 3 large bulbs under a shade tree in my garden in a large pot. In early autumn I went to bring them in to be dormant, to my surprise they had a stem and bud . I brought them in and later they each bloomed ,1,2,3, and what a gorgeous huge blessing. They also were double .

When they start to grow and bloom will you need to repot these bulbs?
@inthegarden-withchristinaroseАй бұрын
No, they should be fine in the pots we put them in. However, I did move them all last year into a hangging basket in the green house to live for the summer. The green foliage need to take in energy for the summer but the blooms only last 6-8 weeks until the next christmas season.

What if the quaking Aspen is getting really tall but is skinny, could you trim the leaders down to getting to thicken up? I’ve lost a few aspens because in the winter they bend over from the weight of the snow
@inthegarden-withchristinarose2 ай бұрын
We have lost a few of these trees as well. 🥲 If your Quaking Aspen is getting tall and skinny, trimming the leaders can encourage thicker growth, but it’s essential to do it carefully. Aspens are fast-growing trees and can sometimes become leggy, especially if they're competing for light. Pruning the leaders (the tallest branches) can indeed help the tree to focus more energy on thickening up rather than just growing taller. However, I would not prune the leader of a very young tree. Here's how to do it: Prune in late winter or early spring before the tree starts actively growing. Trim back the leader(s) by about one-third, but make sure not to remove too much-this can stress the tree. Also, prune any weak or crossing branches to improve the overall structure. Another tip is to ensure the tree is properly watered and mulched, as this supports stronger, healthier growth. Lastly, for winter protection, you can try loosely tying up the tree to a sturdy stake or use a snow fence to shield it from heavy snow. This can prevent the bending that leads to breakage. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. 😊🌲

What a perfect video! It was raining so we could see how water tight it was. The build was so organized! and I loved the overhead shots showing it all laid out in reference to how it would get put together - very nice! Great job by your son and his buddies. They did a great job! I like to see the extra equipment you got for it as well (can you add the details in the description?). I bought one of these greenhouses online from Costco and they delivered it to my house. I love it! Started pretty much all my veggies garden plants in it this year. Definitely worth it!

How often/much will you water your blueberries?
@inthegarden-withchristinarose6 ай бұрын
It's being watered daily at the moment. We live in a high desert, and it's over 100 degrees. However, it's not on a dripper; I am hand watering it, and only if the top few inches are dry.
