I fished this lake this past Christmas, I was in the long creek arm east of the rail road bridge. Got one hit, but no fish on the yak. Though conditions this past weekend. Beautiful lake. My in laws live 30 minutes away. I’ll be back up from Ga in the spring hopefully.

Very nice description of the lake. I’ve grew up there. This is one of the best crappie fishing lakes in the entire country in my opinion. Great bass fishing too. If your passionate about crappie fishing go check out PR Fishing channel. He lives on this lake and is the CRAPPIE GOD.

It's still eliminating a huge portion of the skill required to get fish. Finding fish is a skill. Putting the pieces of the puzzle together. I don't use any electronics. In the salt we had down scan only and used it to find water depth only. Fishing must mean something different to me. I just don't get it. Ppl always want a shortcut even when it comes to something that supposed to be enjoyable. It did not make you a better fisherman it gave you an unfair advantage over the fish. Ridiculous!

@ChrisFiore12 жыл бұрын
Not sure on crappie I know they holes on almost any brush lilt but also crappie do like to suspend and roam in open water in creek channels the big ones are typically loners swimming around

I value every one’s opinion , I just get tired of watching tournaments with everyone’s eyes glued to the floor with spinning rods in their hands. I just hope they start to have tournaments available for those with it and without it. I enjoy watching the MLF Cup tournaments when everyone has two 9” traditional sonars and have to break the lake down. Good video though. BTW I really enjoyed your Kerr lake videos. Have you done one on Gaston?

This only my two cents worth. I don’t have either one. This is for the ladies and gentlemen that can’t afford forward facing sonar!!! I was in my boat trying to learn how to fish deeper water. 10-15 feet. I fished by a boat. A nice boat loaded with all types of units plus forward facing sonar. In the heat of the summer on a lake. I said to the men. Man!!! You need one unit on that pretty boat. His reply was. If I had room I’d have more. I had two hummingbird 899 on my 16’ war eagle. I was fishing what I could find in 10-15 foot depth range. He was fishing shallow docks. My point is. The AVERAGE fisherman buys this stuff and doesn’t take the time to really learn it like we all should. So!!!My two cents worth. I’d say 60% can’t afford it like me. 30 percent buy it but obligate there time to it. Five percent try like heck to figure it out. The last 5 percent!!! Well there the ones that can afford it,and willing to grind to figure it out. Those are the guys that kick my azz every month 😂😂😂point is. Work with what you have 👍

So having to crank baits at different depths to make sure you’re contacting bottom. Also making contact with every piece of structure you can. Using your ride to change your angles and make multiple cast Deering retrieve beating Arkansas down to make sure you don’t get hung up. As are definitely some secrets using a shorter rod to make multiple cast and be more Efficient sounds like a Lotta good information and little secrets and a lot of people don’t know
