The French community is currently seeing a massive blow up of 1.8 PvP with hundreds of new players joining in and discovering 1.8 PvP and UHCs every month in that version. The community is still growing to this day and I'm really happy 1.8 doesn't die, they really succeeded at bringing this back and it exploded. (the server is called UHC World and one of the streamer/youtuber who started it is called TheGuill84) It's almost the first time that I see something coming out of the French community that isn't toxic in any way. There's new game mechanics related to roles that you receive during your gameplay and proximity voicechat in the uhcs, there's naruto uhc, werewolves uhc and many more. Really fun to see

But I hate 1.8 Pvp because When I am clicking fast, my hands get sweaty

Imo they should have not removed 1.7-1.8 pvp mechanics at all. Making it interchangeable would have made the game a bit more diverse and fun

1.8 pvp and also potpvp is pretty much in the dirt, a decent portion of 1.8 pvp youtubers have either quit pvp entirely or moved on to 1.21 combat, and i dont think 1.8 pvp is gonna make a comeback unless something really significant happens that brings a lot of new players to the community, and old players back to the community.

Thing is, I think 1.7 pvp is way better than 1.9, simply because there’s so many techniques like block hitting, w tap, and hit selecting to make u better at a PvP. So contrary to popular belief, it’s not just clicking.

As a 1.7 player who changed to 1.21 I think 1.21 is better even though 1.7 made the biggest impact and I don't think 1.21 players should clown on 1.7 players

I've played 1.8 since 2016 and I don't think I've ever queued the same people 5 times in a row in skywars, 1.8 is literally dying but I do appreciate the good times and memories it brought me. I will stick to saying 1.8 will forever be THE version over 1.20

i used to main 1.8 pvp and i would hate on 1.20 pvp but after i tried pvp in 1.19 I realised its kinda fun and since then I believe 1.20 pvp is better and more fun than 1.8

Personally, i stopped playing minecraft once i stopped doing 1.8 cuz i realized i dont actually like the game, i like the pvp gamemodes. So for me personally, 1.8 will always be superior

I played now 1.8 for around 4 years. Skywars, UHC, Practice PvP, Bedwars (also OG Bedwars), FFA and other Hunger or Survival games. Though I also played alot of SMP-based Anarchy on 1.20 and also won some. I respect both versions. However I also will remain with my heart in 1.8 simply because I dont like how big the delay of the shield is. The shied was never meant to be a precise tool, made for the reaction time of pvp players in my opinion. And another personal thing is that I love the fast-pasted ascept of 1.8 more. It is more of a rush to play FinalUHC or Bedwars than to block and having a cooldown. It is just not my thing... And now we have weapons that can one-shot you or dont even need direct combat (Crystal). It just doesnt feel right... Though I also agree on that 1.20 takes more skill. Not because of that you can be a god at 1.8 because you "can click faster", that is nonsense, but because of more competent aim for example. However, I dont know if that is a good thing. 1.8 is hard enough to master and just got mastered by a small percantage of players. Do we really need make it even harder? It is a bit ironic. New players I hear that rant about 1.8 and that they rather play a "more skilled version of pvp" are doing mostly even worse on that version.

1.8 is more iconic for sure, however 1.20 is better because it has more variants. I still play both but honestly. I don't get the argument, they are both good and it doesn't matter what you like as long as your happy

It sad how everthing it dies slowly,first the pot pvp community *hcf* and now 1.8 in general (skywars etc.) we cant do anything though,we have to remember the great memories we had in the communites and just go forward i guess...

They all have their ups and downs, 1.9 is more unique and skill based and 1.8 is easier to learn and fun to play with friends.
