hello! are you tunning your vocals with any software or are you just a good singer? if you are tuning are you tuning softly?
@_benbarr13 күн бұрын
it depends, i'll use everything from heavy tuning with logic flex pitch + pitch plugin, or no tuning... whatever is serving the sound in my head the best !

@@_benbarr i feel like most how to videos always stop at the instruments. It would be cool to see how an artist develops melodic vocals and its harmonies on top of the piano chords. A bit of a request yea, but also a goof content idea i think. thank you

Yo dude love your vids. Also a cool logic trick that you may or may not know is that if the player head is moving and you’re noodling around and find that you like what you did, you can press (Shift + R) and that will bring everthing you did back. Logic is always listening :)

100% of why I make music is to fulfill my inner child and create things that I like. Big part of why I’m not monetarily successful off music lmao but I will never let go of doing it to feel good and have fun

Exactly

I'm actually practicing the opposite approach. Uploading only to three platforms (KZbin, Spotify, Soundcloud) because I share the mentality that the people who were meant to hear it will. Making music makes me happy so I don't care how popular it gets as long as I enjoy it. It does feel nice when someone else shares in the emotion of a specific piece. It lies at the root of our desires as humans to strive for common connection. Don't get too in your head about it man, reconnect with yourself.

I think we’re getting at the same sentiment-just making music for the joy of it and not worrying about promo
@jonnykanesantosАй бұрын
I never make tiktoks for my music. I promote very bare bones. I just kinda do what I feel good about and try to be myself. That's fine. I had a guy make a video about my album cuz he loved it so much. Someone else shared me in a tiktok about small bands and I got new listeners. Those things felt awesome and changed my mind on this. I think if you really feel how you feel and you wanna make this music to reach people in the same way others got to you, then maybe you owe it to yourself to use all this promo crap. If the phony people are doing it too, I just don't want them to have that advantage over people who think like you. Like us. Nine Inch Nails made me feel better about growing up how I did. Slipknot was relatable. Made me feel less alone. I wanna do that for people. Don't burn yourself out on the extra crap. Don't let the music suffer cuz of it. BUT if it helps, it helps. No shame if you ever change your mind. My next album I'm making a tiktok, I'm tellin jokes, I'm greenscreenin BS. lol. I appreciate the sentiment though. I have only really done what you are describing as a musician, so I'm gonna try the content and submitting to playlists, etc. this next release. I watched the video so I thought I'd comment. I hope you feel good about whatever you do next. And if you ever change your mind, I think it can be done without sucking your soul out. Maybe you just need a break. As long as your hearts in the right place I always want people like you making music in whatever capacity they can. I'm gonna check out your stuff
@_benbarrАй бұрын
Totally agree. Definitely come from a place where it was a lot more forced-I don’t have anything against promoting, but just want it to feel organic and not do it because I’m “supposed to”. And music comes first always
@jonnykanesantosАй бұрын
@@_benbarr absolutely! I admire how good your stuff sounds! Patience for the production/engineering aspect is the only part I have to force hahaha. Good luck with everything and thanks for the response

Yes! I briefly hit this topic a bit on both videos on mixing in this series, but definitely open to making a longer video covering it :)
