I like the drill example on straight stretch of road. Can try that. A lot of good information here for students, permanently relevant. I like the view of it as an art form. You also had good examples for slow shifters and how to correct. I haven’t still seen any videos as helpful as this one and it’s more than a decade later since you created it. Nice job!

I’m basically stuck going 35 down any hill or mountain when my last gear is 40-70mph, kinda shitty how it works out, I’m smashing or going turtle, no in between

I'm wondering if you don't have load lock holder and spare tire if there's a way to secure it tightly to the back of the truck.

Technicaly thats not a spliter its a high low selector...splitters are on 13 speed and 18 speed..the lil switch on the side of the shifter
@mansanayanaranjado Жыл бұрын
I really thought this was going to be more useful. But you need a tire to keep the bike from scratching the finish. So I don't have a tire and this was a really long redundant video
@tobynoe6748 Жыл бұрын
Isn't the tire carrier mounted to the Catwalk? So mounting the bike would be about the same as tying it to the Catwalk.

Crazy but this is correct. Too bad some of the drivers out west don't care about going down safely. They like to go full speed and hit those curves at 60 mph or more on the down grades. I can't tell you how many times I've taken my time going down to keep it safe and get passed up and cut off by other semi drivers. Great video thank you

So just want to know what you guys think I'm a flatbed driver I haul pipe split axle trailer with a peterbilt 579 sleeper tractpr. I recently slid the 5th wheel all the way back ( before it was second to last hole) I figured it will give me better turning and uturn capabilities without worrying about hitting the tractor I'm in nj ny md pa de area I do good amount of city driving and I at times have to go into tight spots make tight turns and some unavoidable uturns. So will having it all the way back effect my turning or backing ? what about winter driving if i'm too light on my steers?? again before it was in second to last so I believe i wont feel a difference at all the truck is in the shop now for maintenance so i'm just analyzing on down time lol
@hellobenoliver2 жыл бұрын
If you switch when downshifting from 5th to 4th and you're still in 5th, won't it jump down to 1st? Shouldn't you flip the switch as you're coming over to 4/8, in the neutral space?
@glock40142 жыл бұрын
So the low gear will hold the truck back even if you got 45,000 on your back
