The Unpreventable

I was involved in an accident that was deemed "unpreventable", and the police cleared me of any wrong doing. Although this is not the typical happy video I like to shoot. I still believe people can learn from it. Be safe out there and remember that even when bad things happen (even when you can't prevent it) you can minimize the risk of making things worse.

That's the bad thing about people in cars they need to stay out of the way big trucks.I don't how many close calls I've had with people in cars or pickups they just don't pay attention to the road at least you are safe keep 'em rolling

Good job mate, i drive smaller trucks ( 4 and 5 toners ) around the Sydney cbd - i drive with my hand on the horn - when ever i see ANYTHING suspicious i use it without a thought, the lady would have been panicking, may be her GPS changed her directions at the last minute

that's what macro 52 does on the qualcom's. it's a quick key set up to put you as "on duty, not driving" and under comments it SHOULD say "motor vehicle incident" when a DOT officer inspects the log.

Good video. Glad everyone is ok. I know they always say all accidents are preventable but there is reason they call them "accidents". My father drove truck for yrs. and he always said you have to drive you truck and drive all the cars around you. If the cops say it was unpreventable Swift should realize that you did all you could do and say good job for not panicing and causing a bigger wreck. Good luck and I vidos are good.

I know this video is old 2011, but damn bro.... you got lucky... wow, im am extremely shocked... DOT federal regulations require that the driver be terminated immediately, even if the driver is not at fault, even if the police record states the driver is not at fault. As well as insurance company does not continue insuring the truck company until the driver is completely immediately removed from the company, because the company gets the same infractions records on their federal doc. but glad youre still alive bro.

Hey E. on your accident what time of the day did this happen? what speed was the construction zone? did you take pictures of your truck and can you show the pictures?

you will use a qualcomm to communicate with the company and macros are the different types of messages. each one has a number and are used for different types of things, like you will have one type of macro that you will send to let them know that you have arrived at the customer. hope that helps :)

Unfortunately it'll be deemed as a preventable. Doesn't matter what the cop says, what does matter is what you said and did. First let me say good job on staying alive. This preventable probably wont cost you your job but it'll be on your DAC. keep calm when they ask you (over and over ) to describe what happened. It can take up to a month and that time you must have your story memorized, without waiver every time they ask. If you need help, we can PM

U stayed straight got on the brakes from the time she went through the barrells and into your lane nothing you could have done better..You did one of th seeing habits and you kept your eye on the your surroundings and knowing that something was wrong with that vechile..Swift knows trucks dont stop on dime they need to go out there theyselfs and do the measure..
