If the space between the power steering compressor and the a/c compressor is too tight loosen the a/c compressor bolts from underneath and that will provide a little extra space.

I didnt have any issues taking it out. This video helped me as did a video from Robert DIY check out his page, it has tons of diy repair vids that are phenomenal

did you have any trouble installing the new one with the power steering bracket still in place?

I took the power steering unit out but left the bracket in. Nonetheless I had to use a crowbar to pry the old alternator out but had no problems putting the new alternator in. You may nave a different brand than I used. Ed Goff Mine was Bosch, I took a grinder to it at the top mounting hole, and squeezed it in. I dont think it will suffer at all, its very beefy where i took some metal off. Your video was perfect. very clear and to the point

John Mahoney I am having the same problem with the Bosch. How did has the grind mod hold up? I will probably go get a grinder tomorrow and make some room.

This was a great help. Only thing is I had to grind down a bit of the casting on the alternators top mounting hole. I could not get it bast the power steering bracket without this mod. I really did not want to remove that bracket. I got the old one out, but could not get the new one in.

got it out, bit of a struggle, power steering pump in the way. But it came.
