That was so awesome...many teenagers don't get their drivers license till being way older but here you were flying a plane at such a young age and that must have been the best feeling and done so well even though on the inside it must have been nervousness. Overall, for me personally the wonderful part was when professing Jesus' name, which set a great smile on the face. There is nothing better than seeing someone believing in Jesus, especially flying a plane where anything can happen and being in the air, well it could be the end, but being in Good hands surely does give a peace of mind in all areas of life. Jesus' amazing grace surely is the best comfort to have, may Jesus continually blessyou and all loved ones.

Congratulations Sarah on getting your Private Pilots license!! That is awesome!!! Really enjoy your videos. I also enjoy the pics/videos of 35411. I used to own her and really missed having her to fly. But that was around 20 years ago when i got my private and was flying.

I remember this.. I had 10 hours of training.. then took my first solo at 16yo.. it was so scary to turn the engines on and go down the runway, but after I got off the ground.. 3 touch and goes.. it was great..

Sarah, I'm a retired old man who flew much of the world and ALSO soloed at 16 in1959. July 4th, actually. 😊 A word of advice, if you don't mind. On your way up, LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE ABOUT WEATHER. Weather is your constant enemy and ALWAYS check the weather before you take off. I did and it damn near killed me a couple of times, anyway.😅 Learn as much as possible, AND ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT FEELING! The sky IS OUR WORLD. Only God knows how much I miss it. Press on!❤😅 (Also: Learn Murphy's Four Laws of Survival.) Ask your dad. (Murphy is a VERY WISE MAN.) 😊

I learned how to fly on my cousin's crop duster, that thing didnt even had a dash, or any gauges, just the throttle, and the stick and pedals. It surely was scary as hell in the beginning, but soon had under control. He had barely got it, and had to put it to work to make some money and fix it up Now it looks like brand new, with full instruments, it even has a starter now, it was a pain turning that prop at four in the morning every day. We were sure pretty lucky doing all that stuff but had no choice..

Congrats, but remember to guard your throttle during take offs and landings.. right hand on throttle.. using two hands on the yoke will cause. A bad habit of not guarding the throttle in case you have to cut power quickly.. get used to flying with your left hand only on yoke… right hand on throttle and can quickly reduce flaps, carb heat, prop and mixture if required during landing or takeoff..

Keep up the good work young lady. I love seeing the enthusiasm. My oldest niece (28) is living with me while she is flight instructing thanks to growing up flying with me and my 16 year old niece (who lives down the street) just had her first PPL lesson. Both wanting to be airline pilots. I am having a great time helping them go through their experiences. Blue skies!!!

Huge congratulations! Getting the whole thing done while in high school is amazing. I see a future airline pilot in the making. I soloed before I could drive a car. I started my flying lessons at age 16, funded by freelance lawn mowing. Because my high school drivers education was over filled, I did not get a driver's license for a car until I was 17 (almost 18). As a result, I rode my bicyle 4.5 miles each way to the local airport (2600 ft runway). So I was in a very stange situation where I bicycled to and from the airport, was able to fly solo in a Cessna 150, but couldn't drive a car. The guys at the FBO used to just laugh about the whole thing, and knew that I had to rest and cool off before flying on a hot summer's day. Since my income to take flying lessons depended upon the grass growing, I could only do so 6 months of the year. I got my PPL 2 years after I started lessons at age 18, and by that time I was able to drive a car to the airport. That was way back in the 1970's. I don't think cutting one's shirt after soloing was a widespread tradition back then, but it should have been.
@miniondave631410 ай бұрын
I've looked at taking lessons a few times over the years, but the cost is a killer. Your idea for finding a local EAA chapter is really good and I hadn't even considered scholarships. I have something to research now.
