Always buy from legit knife dealers and store's my titan is American made same handle as the scarab full suration dagger double action and I have a question for you can the Titans be able to go in water since I saw mine on the list with those that can go in water but I don't understand why I can't find info or anything about being in water when it was on the list when I ordered it today just asking I paid 65$ for mine I think buying extra blade's so one blade goes blunt dull just saying and what knife sharpeners should I get diamond or water stone sharpeners mine is made by wolf

Heavy, unwieldy and clumsy in the hand , it's tip is fragile, and I have never needed to make a knife into a spear. I have never even needed a spear. The saw teeth are only good for making shallow notches. If you want a wall-hanger or just want something 'cool', it's great , after 50 years of camping, I would rather take a Mora Companion.

I watched this 9 years after it was posted. I've been analysing steel compositions for far longer than that. I agree with your generalizations, but the more I learn about steel compositions, the more I opine that everything is complicated when all factors are considered. The devil is in the details.

Disagree. It was a utility knife. The design was taken from farmers. Its basically a scaled down Bowie knife for manufacturing similicity and to save weight. We used it for years as a hunting, utility bush knife to which it excelled. Pushing the lie the knife was just a fighting knife just gets the knife banned in so many countries! Sure it could be that but what knife cant!

If the liners are protecting against rust, then water, when seeps in will rust beside the screws, don't you think? Also this is a very heavy knife. What tactical purposes would be justified in your opinion?

Great knife! I really like it and i dont regret my purchase at all. It’s a beast that destroys everything it touches. Really comfortable and good looking knife. I recommend it but i still have three little complains about it. The handle: i wish it was an inch longer. Having my index in the finger choil puts too much pressure on it while chopping and not enough on my other three right behind. An extra inch would allow all of my four finger to have a grip behind the choil imo The finish: it’s not a durable finish. I’ve used it to baton all the wood i needed for two weekends while camping on free lands(a lot of logs about 6" diameter) and it’s almost all wear out. BUUUUUTTTT i really like the look of a wear out blade so it’s ok for me. The sheath: it’s just not a good sheath. I’ve putted a snap on each of the straps because i just don’t trust velcros enough for that task. I don’t plan to attach it anywhere else than on my backpack so it’s not that kind of a big deal for me but it’s definitely a downer. Thanks for your video!

Thank you for your video. Regarding 10:23, the name "Blood Groove" is a misnomer and its purpose is not designed for exsanguination. Instead its real name is called the "Fuller". The Fuller on a blade improves its strength & rigidity while also increasing its surface area through a cross section and reducing its weight. For example, a steel I Beam has improved strength & rigidity over that of a flat solid bar. Similarly corrugated sheet steel is stronger & more rigid than flat sheet steel. Some swords even have double fullers for improved strength & rigidity while also making them lighter.

This knife fits remarkably well in the Secure-Ex sheath, that is included with the Cold Steel Leatherneck. For about $15, the Leatherneck can be given a very good home in a standard Kabar leather sheath.

Mine is from the original group and is a little different from the one you have. It does use Torx screws and says Elishewitz on the off side, it also doesn`t say what the steel is. Except for very slight wear on the edges of the pocket clip, it is as new. Normally I carry my original AFCK every day, but today the old Elishewitz is in my pocket. I change up maybe one day a week. The thumb wheel is slow, but with my arthritis it doesn`t make that much difference to me. A couple weeks ago I took it apart and cleaned and lightly oiled it and it is ultra smooth. The blade is ground with the same degree of bevel on both sides of the edge. I don`t remember what year it was bought, only that I bought it new. A very nice little knife!

Acutally 5160 leaf spring is the best steel to use for a blade like this its really tough steel beat it and itl ask for more it also strops up a scary sharp edge and holds it for long plus i dont think this blade is super heavy yes it will tire you quicker then a machete but if your naturally fit and work out you wont have this problem i can swing this just as fast as swinging a machete and i can defo carry it on me all day no problem i guess it just depends on the person using it

I ordered it for a work/beater knife so I'm not abusing my pm2. It seems perfect for me, not a super hard steel so unlikely to chip/snap, I'm not worried about edge retention because if I need a sharp knife for slicing I have my pm2

Have carbon Mora's and have stainless Mora's For well over a decade now. I like the carbon slightly more, feel it works better with ferro rods (the stainless ones throw a spark too when you 90° em) Also because you can pick up some flint and strike sparks off of em. Other than that, the 12c27 really sharpens nicely for a stainless and I don't feel the edge retention is much different, atleast when you cut wood. And both can become hair popping/whitlling sharp.

I have had one of these since 1999 too! It's my EDC but it sure isn't a beater! Now I was told that the scooped out top of the knife was a form of blood grove and I'll stick with that. This knife has been all over the country and it even went with me to Japan. My knife has been chugging along for 21 years now and I think I'll see another 20 or even 30 years with this!

I was issued this weapon when I was in the Navy during the early 70's. The retention insert can be removed, I have done it a couple of times but the blade is NOT dulled by the retention spring. The flats of the blade are the only part that comes into contact with the retention spring. The retention insert can be removed without damaging either the spring or the plastic sheath. My blade has been dulled through use, not the retention insert.

@@OysterPir8 My needs for a knife are much more modest now as compared to when I was in. This knife sits in my footlocker in the attic and hasn't seen daylight in quite a few years. My edc knife is a small Gerber that uses razor knife blades, when I go out I carry a Kershaw folder for self defense needs.

Hey man, nice video, just got this knife. The sheathe is indeed setup to carry horizontally. You use the same holes in the sheathe but use the top two or bottom two holes on the belt clip, not right two or left two as you would for vertical carry. I took the clip off altogether and added an iwb metal clip, great for concealing and a very good sized knife for edc.
