Great in depth video. I have the hunters point. I wish it had a front finger guard though. Thanks for sharing.

Great knife! I really like it and i dont regret my purchase at all. It’s a beast that destroys everything it touches. Really comfortable and good looking knife. I recommend it but i still have three little complains about it. The handle: i wish it was an inch longer. Having my index in the finger choil puts too much pressure on it while chopping and not enough on my other three right behind. An extra inch would allow all of my four finger to have a grip behind the choil imo The finish: it’s not a durable finish. I’ve used it to baton all the wood i needed for two weekends while camping on free lands(a lot of logs about 6" diameter) and it’s almost all wear out. BUUUUUTTTT i really like the look of a wear out blade so it’s ok for me. The sheath: it’s just not a good sheath. I’ve putted a snap on each of the straps because i just don’t trust velcros enough for that task. I don’t plan to attach it anywhere else than on my backpack so it’s not that kind of a big deal for me but it’s definitely a downer. Thanks for your video!

If the liners are protecting against rust, then water, when seeps in will rust beside the screws, don't you think? Also this is a very heavy knife. What tactical purposes would be justified in your opinion?

would love to see a little more of the blade in action, but great informative video.

Sage Myers - these gloves are made by Bionic, they're the full finger fitness ones. These aren't specifically cut resistant since they're not made for knives (they're made for lifting), but they'd still protect you from cuts to a certain degree, just like any glove.

Thanks Omar! Yeah no kidding, a front finger guard would have drastically improved its jab/thrust safety without sacrificing nearly anything in survival use. Thanks for the share/view!

Honestly, I'm just looking for a review on a TOPS steel eagle that features how the saw actually works. You had like two seconds of actual footage of you using the saw. Does it saw well? How easy is it to cut? Do the teeth get gummed up easy? What did you think of the out-of-the-box saw tooth sharpness? Anyway, I hope these questions eventually get some footage in a youtube review.

Does the traction coating keep the blade from rusting, or do you have to be super careful about water protection?
@icemanreed10 жыл бұрын
Yes, the traction coating will keep the blade from rusting until it wears off, which will take a while, as it's a pretty tough coating. Although I'd still be pretty careful about exposing it to water; the edge and sawteeth will still rust, since they're not coated.

IMHO front finger guard is NOT necessary.the handle is bow,it fits hand well. combat knife always has a straight handle, cause you may need to change the way to hold it very quickly.for combat knife front finger guard is must be,not this monster 🤗

You made me feel bad for getting the hunter's point ... 😩
@icemanreed10 жыл бұрын
Haha sorry man. Don't feel bad bro, it's still a beast of a blade. The great benefit is that when (not if) your knife goes dull, you or whoever sharpens your knife is going to be so glad you got the hunter's point.

I have this knife. It got bent pretty bad from regular use. I dig, baton and chop wood and don't know how I did it but I noticed it was bent out of shape pretty bad, like 20 degrees. It bent back very easily though. I expected more from a sub 200 dollar knife.
