You've thought of everything. 🚜🐄🐖🐑 p.s. I just put away my Halloween Theme and put out my North American Animals, Apples, Acorns, and Leaves themes, last night. ☺️ I had a few kids absent the actual entire week of Halloween, so I extended it to be sure they got to play with the items. I made a video, last night, but lighting is a bit dark, because it was after dark outside and I didn't have the benefit of the natual sunlight shining through the windows.

I've been binge watching your videos today, and just saw this. I am so sorry for such a tough time you had during this season, last year. I can totally understand your grief, as I have lost both my biological parents, my step-dad who I adored, and also my husband over the last several years. Pushing through in this type of work makes things even more difficult, because of how emotionally and physically demanding our jobs are. My heart goes out to you, as you are experiencing the one year anniversary of such a grievance time. May you continue to be in good health. I hope your shoulder healed correctly and hasn't given you much trouble, this past year. It can be very scary to not be able to work. (I injured my arm lifting the children a few years ago, and I had to hire someone to help for a week. I really couldn't afford it, but had no other choice. So I know how that is too.) I wish the very best for you. I always look forward to your content. Visiting you through your videos just makes my whole day. Thank you for making your videos and inspiring us. You help to keep me going.

Thank you so much, Tanya. It was certainly a very tough year. Grief is very hard to explain. It never goes away what I wouldn’t give to have one more day my shoulder has been challenging as well. Still in Physio and seeing a chiropractor for my shoulder. I fully admit I have not put the effort in the last few months into the exercises. It just has dragged on so long. thank you for your kind words. I appreciate them. I’ve been down in my classroom all day today. I was hoping to film a classroom tour, but I don’t think I have it in me anymore lol. It will come out sometime next week. I’m sure.

I would love to see a video on how you transition your daycare children to your style of classroom. How you prevent the running/dumping/huge mess. Also what strategies you use to prevent injuries since you use hugh quality materials(heavy/wood etc) I am returning to family childcare after teaching in a Montessori for the past 3yrs. I am certified Montessori for ages 3-6 BUT my classroom is similarly in style.to yours. I am having such a hard time transitioning a few of mine to stop taking/throwing etc..We have sensory everyday, outdoor play for at least an hour in the morning and afternoon. Recently the throwing and pushing has turned to biting. I am at a loss. I also have 2 just about 2yrs old, and the rest are 3-4yrs old-eight total.

I'm working with 3rd graders this school year and I've noticed about 50% of the class has a maturity level at or just slightly above preschool/kindergarten. I'm learning a lot of the same tools and such we use with littles can be applied to older students, we just adjust the language somewhat so we're not "babying" the older students. Question for you and other teachers: Have you noticed a lower maturity level in students that went through earlier grades during COVID, that ideally would be closer to their maturity level in other circumstances? I know there are studies out there confirming our students across the country have lost academic skills from the chaos of COVID, I'm more concerned about the social consequences COVID has had on our youth. Thank you for the lovely video.
@Playing_with_a_Purpose2 ай бұрын
@@grantchoitz1420 you’re very welcome! I can’t give much feedback as I only have children 1-4 but I agree that Covid certainly changed children socially:(
@grantchoitz14202 ай бұрын
@@Playing_with_a_Purpose I think with littles that were born before or during COVID that are in childcare, we unfortunately won't see the social consequences until they age up a few years. I do think the mask wearing, among other things, hindered the social growth of our youngest generations. It's so important for littles to get that face-to-face emoting from adults as an anchor for emotional support. If you can't see your caregiver's face, it is very difficult for a child to form a trusting relationship with that person.

I just started a 3s classroom and the kids don’t listen 95% of the time. It’s definitely hard and discouraging. No matter how many times I tell them to stop climbing because you can hurt yourself , no hitting, walk in the classroom, they don’t listen. I also have 5 autistic kids that can’t communicate well and there’s a lot of yelling/shouting and they tend to hit the other kids a lot when they are upset. It’s HARD
@Playing_with_a_Purpose4 ай бұрын
@@Twoinoneworld that sounds challenging. Are you able to speak to your director about the heavy load? That seems like a lot. It’s really important to stay calm even when things get a little crazy but that seems like a little too much.
@karenaugustin20783 ай бұрын
I feel for you. 5 autistic children in one room is too much even for the most seasoned teacher. If they're not properly managed it changes the whole dynamic of the room. Your director needs to send extra support at certain times during the day. What's with so many autistic children these last few years anyway? 😮
