Sunday - I still don't get how you did 2000 pull ups in a day - and with ripped hands? I mean that can't be pleasant and why didn't you use gloves for protection? Having ripped hands just impedes you from writing, doing more sets of pull ups, preparing food and can't be fun to shower with. What validation did you get out of doing 2000 in a day? By doing so, not only did you risk injuring yourself further preventing you from working out - but also caused unnecessary injury. I know you like doing many different things Eli - but doing so with risk of injury preventing you from doing other things isn't always the wisest. Then again as I am sure you'll learn in psychology, the teenage brain is not fully developed and teen boys especially tend to take more risks than girls and think their invincible. How are you enjoying that class so far and what materials or reading have you had to do for it? I'm also surprised you opted to reply to this last post at school? I thought you always replied at home... but the last part of the original post was...are you taking PE in twelfth or was this your final year of PE? Well grappling is as good a workout as pull-up's, perhaps more since one uses all muscle groups for it. How familiar are you with grappling and have you seen grappling before? I am sure some of your peers do it for real or take classes. How is grappling a distraction? Its a martial arts much as karate and karate is not a distraction. As I've also said, one can have multiple hobbies, why limit one self to just two or three hobbies? You find it easier to speak words than to write in a journal? This is a bit of a different position Eli - you once spoke of journaling so much and you write all these books but can't seemingly be as articulate when journaling to the same effect as when writing your book? On slacking off and watching KZbin and playing video games and eating junk food and staying up late - all these things you said you would stop doing in earlier posts... in fact you said you'd be going to be at 9 nightly then realized that wasn't practical. You went back to video games as expected despite my telling you that what you were doing was not practical so I guess you're finally starting to see outside the box that one can't be productive and still do all those things like junk food, staying up late, playing video games and so on... if they are mature enough. It seems like you are? Don't keep convincing yourself things will change, we've crossed that bridge many times before. Just accept what is now is who you are. A person of many hobbies and yes I've also re-iterated this many times and it just goes to demonstrate that you're adapting despite still trying to convince yourself otherwise. You are fulfilled Eli. So how is it like sleeping in a new bed? Question at this point is how practical (not discipline) but how practical is it for you to keep on these cold showers - you already went warm once when you were feeling unwell, and lets not think about all this hard work, not feeling like it and all those other mindsets but focus on the practical. Its practical even for me to enjoy a nice cold shower when its 90 or 100 outside and at high humidity - I actually feel awake, but outside of those conditions it doesn't seem practical at least not when its cold - are you a practical person Eli? Merry Christmas.

Back to Geo Dash again I see Eli - lol. Its a week till Christmas AND you're the expert at pull-ups so how many sets can you do in a day and how many pull-ups per set? As to whether you can two thousand in one set is up for debate, after all you are quite extreme at everything you do so it wouldn't surprise me if you did a good portion of that in on set. Anyone can gain mental fortitude and strength at whatever they want to gain those two things in - even doing household chores can also make one have fortitude depending on the chore. On not doing uploading for validation but for accountability Eli - well how is it accountable to yourself? One doesn't necessarily have to record and upload and can just write or journal about it. Besides if that was the intent, then I trust you also know that validation can also mean a variety of things... if one can inspire others that's validation enough since others will validate what you're doing to inspire themselves? Goes hand in hand if you look at it that way. I think at some of point, everyone will seek validation from their parents, peers, family, teachers and so on - its part and parcel of our nature especially in high school. Psychology will allow you to understand how mindsets work and how teen mindsets differ from adult mindsets. I trust you sorta see that now compared to when you were in eighth? Teens tend to take more risks than adults and often engage in risky behaviors that adults would not do and as seniors would not do aka cold showers since its not for that age group. When do you intend to take a warm shower again? Its not a matter of if but when since as one ages (and you yourself said its not for everyone) - you will default to warmer weather again. I take cold showers myself so I know what its all about - it does feel refreshing when its 40-50 outdoors and its humid so I don't need to be up sold on the benefits. Its just that people will immerse themselves in a cold shower in those conditions but not much else. Wait... you have forgotten to take a shower before? Actually lol - statistically - everyone has done something others have in life - you're not the first person who has opted to take a cold shower. How long do you intend to keep writing for? At some point you need to stop and edit unless the intent here is to keep writing without editing anything but just to churn out multiple books since evidently its easier to write than to edit and when you edit - it would mean going through everything which would detract you from writing more books? Are you taking PE in twelfth or was this your final year of PE? Well grappling is as good a workout as pull-up's, perhaps more since one uses all muscle groups for it. How familiar are you with grappling and have you seen grappling before? I am sure some of your peers do it for real or take classes. How is grappling a distraction? I am not an expert at pull-ups lol. But I can do really any number of sets in a row. I haven't done many pullups since 2000 in one day. For a while I was doing 5 pullups a minute (all in a set), but when I did the 100 a day (which I'm not doing anymore) I was doing 8 a minute, but 2 every 15 seconds, or sometimes even 9 a minute. My form has gotten much better since September 4th, as well, which was the day I started doing 100 pullups a day. Not many people can do 20 pullups in a set, let alone 2000 lmao. The most I've ever done is 16 in one set, and that was with ripped hands (only a couple of days after doing 2000 pullups in one day). Yes, I agree that anyone can gain mental fortitude and strength at anything they want to. I have a journal, and I use it, but it is simply easier for me to speak words rather than write them by pen. I'm trying not to seek validation from people. I do seek it, but I try not to. I try to seek validation within myself by doing things I enjoy doing. And I feel like I am slowly learning more about that you have to do things you enjoy. But doing things you hate is still a great way to build discipline. Nobody wants to take a cold shower (when you're already cold, that is), but doing the hard work, especially when you don't feel like it, is how you build discipline. There is also a difference between wanting to do things in the long term vs short term. Right now I just want to slack off and watch KZbin, but when I get home, I'm gonna do pushups in preparation for 2025. I have been slacking off; playing video games, eating junk food, staying up late. But that is gonna change. Idk how long I will write for. As of right now it hasn't been very fulfilling. To be honest, I'm liking reading a lot more. I am currently reading the Hunger Games and I've never watched the movies (I have, but it was when I was young so I don't rememeber anything that happenede). I don't have enough time to reply to the rest of the comment but I will reply as soon as I can for the next one (we'll see). Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays!

Dec. 10 Eli - - Sleeping in a bed is the way to go - you have a new room and a new bed so make full use of it. See, I was right - you're starting to realize that sleeping in a bed is more beneficial than sleeping on a floor as to prevent injuries which would impede you from accomplishing that million push up mark. Treasure that back Eli - it helps and at what point will you deserve it, and what exactly do you think you deserve? I am willing to bet that many of your peers do not sleep on the floor regularly - perhaps maybe in elementary it was a thing but in eleventh - not so much. Most people can tolerate cold showers during a heat wave - I can too. Fun fact, when I visited my uncle in Singapore (a humid country where the day times highs push 90 and overnight lows 80 year round) - I took two showers a day, both of which were cold showers. Only problem is that once one steps out of the said shower - they feel all sticky again due to the humidity - so in that case I am fully on board with cold showers but not at this time of year and certainly not over Christmas or in winter. Ever heard of harnessing ones abilities Eli? You harness your writing ability and you also spoke of having the ability to take a cold shower so harnessing that ability once a week won't do much harm now will it? I fully agree that some people don't have a bed to sleep in nor warm water - but we are not them. We are lucky to have a roof over our heads, with a bed to sleep in and electricity plus hot running water. Some are less fortunate but that doesn't preclude us from living like them? I think this is a good theme, its the week of Thanksgiving (of when I originally typed this) so there are many things to be thankful for including all of the above. If we have those things, then maybe make use of them? It would be silly to not use what we have and are thankful for Eli. Yes, I know you're in eleventh - you've mentioned this before - and now you have your first mobile device - amazing. How are you liking it so far and what made your parents finally decide to give you one? I am sure you are capable of paying off the monthly bills with your job. I don't see the connection between parents giving their younger teens a mobile and enable the kids to be less grateful - how is it less grateful in your opinion? In today's connected world, it only makes sense for parents to equip their kids with the tools and resources to stay connected - and for most that means a mobile. I naturally disagree with elementary having mobile but come eighth, it makes sense to have one if only for organizational purposes like calendars, note taking and so on right? Tools. Psychology seems interesting to me and helps me think outside the box. Do you not want to take a psychology elective in eleventh? Doing things we hate to strengthen ones mind seems a bit more of an Eli concept more so than anything else - how has sleeping on the floor strengthened your mind so far? I mean you are still at the same level academic wise and doing well so not sure what you're getting at...?
@rubygod212 күн бұрын
I have been sleeping in my bed the past couple of nights after doing 2000 pull-ups in one day so my arms can recover quicker. Once I start doing 100 pull-ups per day again (probably Sunday or Monday) I’ll go back to the floor and sleep on the floor until January 18th so I can say I slept on the floor for one year. And then on the 19th of January, I’ll sleep in my bed every night from that point on. I don’t do it for validation. I don’t care if my peers do or don’t sleep on the floor. It doesn’t matter what they think about me, I’m still gonna do what I have to do. Cold showers make my mind stronger because it takes discipline to do them. And since I have a stronger mind, I’ll have a more creative mind. I don’t work anymore, have I not said this already? I am literally taking psychology right now. It has only been one week, so not much has happened though. Doing things we hate makes someone’s mindset stronger. Do you seriously not understand that? Does everything have to be about school and my academic level?

Great goal and awesome to see you so dedicated to your self improvement! I had some major health issues that started about 2 years ago and I lost 59 pounds in 7 months. Building back the muscle as someone who was dealing with a chronic illness and 33 years old was a struggle. I was stuck at 115lbs for about 6 months even though I was working out like crazy and eating really healthy. What helped me; If you are up for some constructive criticism, focus more on the quality rather than the quantity of your pull ups. Slow them down instead of just trying to crank them out as fast as possible. Try to have a more smooth controlled pull up without letting your hips and legs go forward. A good trick for this is when you grab the bar and go into your initial hang before starting your first one, bend your knees at a 90° and cross your ankles it will help your body stay straight and keep you from doing a mini kip motion. On the down part of your pull ups go down really slow and make sure you are getting all the way down to a full stretch, hold that bottom stretch position for a full second before doing the next one. The amount of gains you will see(both in muscle mass as well as just overall strength) with be much greater than just knocking them out. Applying these changes in my own workouts lead to me gaining 31 pounds this past 12 months, the vast majority of it muscle mass. Best of luck on your fitness transformation ! Ps if you haven’t already check out Dr. Mike @RenaissancePeriodization. His channel has a ton of great information on workout techniques, as well as the facts/myths of supplements.
