Very nice video. But I have to say you have been negligent. I posted the below under another video of yours but I thought it would be informative to post it here too. While watching your first Greece video I was thinking to myself these guys have been lucky not needing rescuing and then I watched your Pelion video... You keep on saying that people do not hike in Greece. Oh they do. It's far from the national pastime but many do. But usually not in the height of summer and mostly in an organised manner using good maps or guides. Not in a happy-go-lucky way.. Not all paths are well maintained as there are many thousands of kilometres of them. Not all of them are used by hikers. Many of them are left unmaintained since they used to serve communication between villages by pack animals for which there's no need anymore. Spring and fall are the main hiking seasons but Winter as well for more hard core stuff. Every summer Greek rescue services are called to save lots of stranded foreign hikers at great expense. Sadly a few of them do not make it... There are probably more rescue operations conducted in Summer than during the hiking and mountaineering seasons.. Falls and heatstroke are the most common causes of deaths. You have been lucky. Do proper research next time. For example, trying to cross the Albanian-Greek border illegally as if you were crossing from Belgium to France shows you had not done proper research. Drug and people smuggling is rampant over there. Hiking over Pindus just by yourselves without anybody knowing about it could have ended in disaster. Not knowing when refuges are open and not knowing that for many you can get the keys for from a nearby village so you can stay and self cater is another example of not having done your proper homework. Most refuges are run by the local mountaineering clubs and they are open mainly in the hiking and mountaineering season Spring, Fall and for the mountaineering ones Winter.

Ahahahah please.... Everything went well, if we had to do it again we wouldn't do it any different. The only thing that turned weird was the only time we actually trusted some national trails to be clean. But obviously it needs a little more money from the EU ! Other than that the disaster was very far and Greece was certainly one of the easiest country in terms of technicity on the trails. No your message sound weird and far from the reality. Now if you want to talk about the people of the mountains, refuge keepers, rescuers ... None of them we met was actually in shape, just heavyweight cigaret smokers with a very little respect for the environment and English skills that were not making them able to give any information. Your mountains are dying, and it is a shame. Just travel a little and you will see it, like everyone else we talked with about the Greek mountains. Please wake up, your mountains and your nature deserves it ! And also .... Clean your countrybif you love it ! It was so sad to see this amount of trash and see this extreme little concern about environment. Don't bother answering this ! Please !

@@FurtherStories Your luck will run out if you keep on with this attitude. I'am 60 years old and you're what, in your twenties. You have much to learn. Good luck. Hope you never come back here because I don't want to spend money to rescue you. Some people rescued you and treated you well FOR FREE and you have such things to say. Shame on you. I could tell you to read all of my comment again to realise your mistakes but I know it will be hopeless.

Wow! I just came across this video by chance and was watching absentmindedly when I heard Kolokythia and saw my friend Dimitris, his wife Eve and his daughter and the inside of his house!!!!!! That is a place I have been may times, even in winter with 1-2 meters of snow and temperature to -18C and a house I have stayed in lots of times. I called Dimitris on the phone and he remember this must have been on the 18th of August since it was his birthday. He remembers offering you piece of his birthday cake! How funny is this? Dimitris sends his greetings. PS NEVERMIND I JUST REALIZED by watching your other videos WHAT AN OBNOXIOUS DUO YOU TWO ARE. Typically arrogant French who only like to criticize what is different from their country and dislike foreigners, I'm afraid. I will let people in Kolokythia know they wasted their hospitality on you. Greeks, who like wasting EU money, would rather not have you return. Good riddance. Btw how uninformed, unprepared, naive and downright stupid can one be, trying to cross illegally the Albania / Greece (EU) border as if strolling from Belgium to France.... Unbelievable. Next time try to cross illegally the Greece / Turkey border. If shot, the world will not loose an ounce of brains...

the origin land of albanians, The three most common Albanian haplogroups have been found in cultures which would later on be called "Illyrian". E1b-L618 which is the father clade of E-V13 was found in Dalmatia, R1b-Z2103 was found in the Vucedol cultural area and J2b2-L283 was found in a proto-Illyrian site in Croatia. Also autosomally Albanians are close to the Neolithic samples from the Balkans

We were all Albanians by origine ! You know we loved everything about Albania. Everything but this pure crazyness many people have about these Illyrians origins. As if they did not have enough to think about their future, they need to look at the past. We are so tired to read about this. All this Illyrian propaganda is so boring. Maybe you are right but who cares in the end ? We love Albania. That's all. Are Albanians Illyrians ? Nope thousands of years are in the middle of them.
@DinaricUbermensch2 жыл бұрын
@@FurtherStories It isn't propaganda lol, there have been no records of albanians migrating from anywhere, we speak a language that is an isolate in the indo european family which survived high up in the dinaric alps, Albanians had kept tribal structure like the illyrians because they were tribal people, Albanians are the only people to still wear the Plis (ancient greek - Pileus) that even greeks have lost 😂, its clear we descend from the illyrians.
