One small thing to help your riding, use half the fingers on the clutch and brake. The “2 finger technique” will save a lot of hand energy on longer rides and give you greater control. Some people only use 1 finger for the front brake, but with the clutch your pinky and ring finger remain on the grip while the lever is pulled just out of the friction zone resulting in faster, smoother shifts. You got this!

I just did the same thing. I had a MT 07 which I thought I’d never sell but after test riding a 24 MT-09 I knew that I had to get one. I really wanted to keep my MT07 but quickly realized I was probably or very rarely going to ride it so I sold it. The MT-09 is probably one of the best bikes I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned over 25 bikes in my lifetime. I just get a big smile every time I ride it. Enjoy yours and ride safe. Great video ✌️

dude looked too big on a mt-07 and bought a mt-09. bro, us big guys need big boy sport-tourers like the hayabusa, the kawasaki 1400 GTR, the Honda CB1100 XX, or tall ADVS.
@Lewontwo27 күн бұрын
Hayabusa 😂 No way brother! It’s not much taller than the 07 but the higher seat and riding position change a lot for me. Feels so good!

Congrats, How does it feel without a fly screen on the highway?
@Lewontwo27 күн бұрын
Thanks! It feels fine. It has only really affected me at high speed on the highway up to know when it was fairly windy. However it wasn’t so bad.
@116tem28 күн бұрын
How tall are you? You could consider for the future getting a 701 Husqvarna if you like agressive powerful enduro bikes, or a f800gs (2010/2017) or even a t7 for an adventure bike with high seat (but different purpose and riding style). I’m tall as well (6’2) and naked bikes are just too low for me to be really comfortable. Adventure bikes any day for me, for the comfort and versatility. Ride safe.
@Lewontwo27 күн бұрын
I’m 6’2 too and find the riding position on the MT09 to be comfortable and even though it’s not the tallest, I love the look over a taller bike.

Top speed is NOT 135 on the 07. That's the "claimed" one, most people have never gotten theirs above 125, myself included. The wind is too much
@Lewontwo28 күн бұрын
Haha sounds about right
@nulla960128 күн бұрын
Definitely possible, just depends on a lot of things. Like how tucked you are, how dry the road is, direction of the wind, angle of the road, etc. Just between a dry and wet road my top speed is already 5 mph less.

I m thinking of buying MT07 as a first bike. But now that I see this I would really love an MT09, but I m afraid is too powerful for 1st bike. Do you think if I drive it respectfully as you said I will be fine or is it too much?
@Lewontwo29 күн бұрын
I think the MT07 is a brilliant beginner bike. I made a video explaining my thoughts on it a bit more. I don't think the MT09 is a good beginner bike but can tell you that the ride modes on it can make it feel and act like an MT07. That's not to say as a beginner people should rush out and get the MT09 but having ridden both, that's what I felt. I ride my MT09 respectfully and respect the throttle and I have never felt like it's too much power or uncontrollable. I ride on the lowest ride settings which is the least restrictive and have been having a blast. I had my MT07 for about 4 months and swapped it for this. I'm glad I started on the MT07 though. Great bike.
@YoungBob1129 күн бұрын

It was a lot worse when it was first built. Very bouncy. With all the businesses, stop lights and housing development on it there should not be a toll anymore. But with it being privately owned and easy access to the mouse not sure if that will happen anytime soon and they can charge whatever they want.

I completely agree about the toll not being a toll. It’s pretty incredible that it’s as expensive as it is.
