Im an Engkish Trumpeter breeder. The Jacobin and ET have one thing in common: they throw a lot of genetically defective offspring. Lots of small, flimsy looking culls. Anyone breeding these two varieties will never sell you one of their best birds. Just the culls.

I've always preferred the Jacobin with a more open 'jacket' the people who breed them with such an abundance of feather so close to the face are just breeding clumsy blind birds that look headless.

I agree. The smaller jacketed ones are much more 'healthy' looking birds.

Can the birds see very well? They look very fancy and cool but I'm wondering if it might improve their QoL if it was more standard to have the ring of feathers below their eyes a bit, on its neck like a scarf(?) Or at least just more open like the one at 13:43, it does look like it has more room to look around and could be a nice compromise. It's a shame it being "wide open" was considered a negative trait.. If they're fine though and can see, then WOW they're such pretty birds! Pigeons are very underrated

This man should have own channel here! I would love to hear from him. There is a lot of information of racing pigeons but nothing for fancy ones. I am also working on lemon project at the moment. I hope I can be as good as him. Greetings from Bulgaria! 😊🇧🇬
