Never had anyone explain the standard and what to look for on any breed. Would love a hole series of standards explained by experts in each breed with examples . Absolutely fantastic his love for the birds and his knowledge is very apparent. I'm on the east coast and everyone here is secretive and competitive the west coast seems much better ..

Can the birds see very well? They look very fancy and cool but I'm wondering if it might improve their QoL if it was more standard to have the ring of feathers below their eyes a bit, on its neck like a scarf(?) Or at least just more open like the one at 13:43, it does look like it has more room to look around and could be a nice compromise. It's a shame it being "wide open" was considered a negative trait.. If they're fine though and can see, then WOW they're such pretty birds! Pigeons are very underrated

Great video but how is he holding the birds the way he does, and they don't fight him? owo Because right now I'm thinking either he's a bird whisperer and they truly trust him - or they're high.

I have a male Jacobin but no female and non to be found in my area. There are other pigeons sold in my area however, so would I be able to breed my male Jacobin to a female of an other type of pigeon?

Technically you can crossbreed pigeons... but they'll lose the Jacobin features obviously. If you are within USA, then let us know and we can help you get in touch with Drew Lobenstein who is a Jacobin NPA Master Breeder, and you can buy a mate for your bird and the bird can be easily shipped to you. I was considering a female in general just to calm him down a bit and so he would not be alone. I do plan on getting a female Jacobin for him when I can afford one. He did have a mate with the previous owners but she had died just before I got them, so I ended up just having him when I went to pick them up. He is around 2 years old; that is what I was told when I got him.

Poor birds, how narrow their field of vision is. It's sad how people play with nature. They are practically pigeons with disabilities.
