Maybe someone already told you, but the audio in this video is pretty much impossible to hear. Bummer because I really enjoy your videos and was looking forward to this one.

Hey Emily! I just checked and the audio is working fine on my end. The birds are loud in the background but the sound is clear and a decent level. Is there a specific part of the video you’re not able to hear?

This was really helpful, thank you. I just started reining last year and still learning about the bits coming from the barrel horse world.

Thank you for your content. You're always time appropriate for me. I'll be getting back to work with my show horse next week and will take your advice in preparing her as well as myself for the coming show season! But for the next few days, we're hunkering down expecting -30F temps in Montana!! 😢

It was nice to come across you guys, very straight forward about the topic. It’s a struggle to find the right horse for the right price. Cheers

Unfortunately, I think the high cost of being “competitive” in any equine discipline will soon start a decline in the industry. Having 100 exhibitors at a show with $10,000 horses is a far better scenario than having 25 exhibitors at a show with $50,000 horses.

Good info! I need to have you check mine out, as my horse has really changed shape! My “green” rider Q for another day - how do you count your spins? I always lose track!

I have a VERY chill gelding and getting him into a lope and keeping him in a lope on the lunge line can be a challenge. Any suggestions?
@hayescofell1944
@hayescofell1944 Жыл бұрын
@@stronginthesaddle ok, riding is better than lungeing to get him back in shape but if you are lungeing and need more forward - touch whip! Make sure you do it on the fleshy part of the hip and then done keep chasing him with your body, just touch whip again when he slows on his own.

Thank you for your video. I have a mutton withered horse that I show on the ranch circuit. She does dry and cattle work. I was wondering which tree you would recommend? She also has a short back.

Is it possible to cut the saddle skirt length shorter? I know there are the “it’s probably not worth it just get a new / different saddle” for the real world, but for curiosity / interest sake, could a saddle like the one you spoke of, where the skirt is a ridiculous length behind the seat, be cut in theory? I know the aesthetic etc. is a factor but just from like a do-able standpoint and how would that affect the saddles ability to be ridden in, is it something that could be done without ruining the integrity of the tree?

Great info in this video! I wish I would have seen this about three weeks ago! I bought a saddle as part of a package deal with my horse and I think I kind of lucked out. It fits him and I both great. I come from a barrel racing background and now, as I move into reining, I'm amazed at how restricted I was in my barrel saddle. Having a flat saddle that is bigger with a slick seat is so much better. I am actually able to move with my horse.

Hi from Texas!! I really enjoy your content .. I wanted to suggest 2 potential topics for a future “Live”. One is on tips for us nonpros on how to maximize the 30 minutes or so during warm up right before you go in your show class . Another is about how to make “the middle” a comfortable place for horse and rider … thanks again for the great content !!

I often miss your lives, but these videos are an awesome resource. I feel like I get my horsey fix, even if I’m not riding. Now, I get to start thinking about what it is I really want in a horse, so when it’s time to go shopping, I have a very clear idea.

Thank you both for your regular KZbin videos and particularly for raising this topic - I’ve just returned from the Tulsa Reining Classic and this new rule change makes things even more discouraging for me as a weekend rider nonpro .. it’s hard enough competing w/ trainers’ spouses and kids (😀) who declare as non pros and now to think that their obtaining sponsorships will make it even more difficult for us to be competitive - am now not particularly motivated to spend derby type entry fees for larger shows - the sport will lose grassroots type nonpros in my view.
