Thank you so very much for this video. I actually bought the croc file a few days ago on Etsy. What bit sizes did you actually use to cut? Was it really a 1/4" and 1/8"?
@lorigallion20915 ай бұрын
@@shawnfields3503 I didn’t actually cut it just made the video to help show someone how to import the stl and set up the toolpaths paths. The actual bits used would depend a lot on the size you make it.

@@lorigallion2091 Awesome thanks. I'm hoping to made one about 10" on the long end so I'll use my smallest bit.

This video needs more views. Those were great tips and its something I've been struggling with lately. 😁

That was a pretty good tip for Desk Proto. I might check that out. What else does it do?

I originally downloaded it to make a lithophane. I quickly realized it was easier to do on my 3D printer so I tried using it for carving STLs. Since the free version only allows 1 toolpath and for some reason is really slow, I don't really use it for anything other than previewing 3D files now.

Hi Lori, I have enjoyed your videos but it makes me realize how little I know and how much more that I can do. I have had trouble finding hands on training with Shapoeko and Carbide Create and that has been my problem since I bought my machine over a year and half ago. Do you offer or do you know someone that does offer one on one training?
@lorigallion2091 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, just saw this. I don't do one on one training but if you have something specific you'd like to learn I'd be happy to make a video for you.

Gsender has the creation of surfacing Toolpaths directly in the tool. It is free. It is the Goode sender. I highly recommend using Gsender.

Yes. There are definitely other solutions to do this. This video was made to answer a specific question from someone who wanted to use carbide Create to do a raster toolpath surfacing operation in that software.
@jarredbaker5462 жыл бұрын
Can this be done in carbide create? I've been trying because I have many live edge pieces I want to start using. I've tried drawing contoured rectangles with no luck.
@lorigallion20912 жыл бұрын
You could draw a line and use the array tool and space the rows .5” (or whatever stepover you want) apart. The only difference is you won’t be able to join the ends.

@@lorigallion2091 yeah I've been trying to draw rectangles and circles and then boolean them to get close to what I want

I should have added that you want to set your x and y zero to center of stock, not the lower left as I have it in the video.
@oldbroncoguy8 ай бұрын
Why?
@lorigallion20918 ай бұрын
@@oldbroncoguy because lower left of the stock and lower left of the file aren’t in the same place.
