This was the single best bossfight experience in gaming I've ever had. For every boss in Grime that made me grit my teeth and breath through my nose when I died, for every death to something new I had no experience with, for every grueling hour I put in to beating that stupid hand, returned to me in an attempt at beating the most glorious boss I had the pleasure to experience. Every time I died to this boss, I was amazed at how fucking amazing it looked, how it moved, how every attack was cinematic and yet still managable. The music amped me up in the second phase on my final attempt, and the victory was somehow even more amazing than I thought. Not because it was theraputic, like I was getting revenge for so many deaths I felt undeserved. Unlike every time I've died in Grime, every death vs the Surrogate Vulture felt like it was encorouging me to keep going. To keep learning. To try again, but this time, do this instead. And it was the most glorious feeling as I cleaved this thing's weak point with one final heavy attack from the Yr Glaive. As it died and gave me the ability to hover, I felt like instead of spitting on the grave of something I despised, I wanted to shake it's fucking wing. TLDR: Boss good. Music good. Killing boss felt good.

After about 8 years I finally found this piece again. Although I never played demon's souls, this song always hit me hard. I'd love to get a midi file for the strings some day as this song is just too perfect.

This definitely sounds like it could be for the unused Great One Beast boss. The Great Ones are described as "sympathetic in nature." Perhaps there was one, a singular person who was truly pious, truly merciful, one of the few individuals the Great Ones deemed worthy of ascension... Despite the fact that the individual in question was afflicted with the terrible beastly plague. But they retained their consciousness, their compassion and mercy. And so they were immortalized in the endlessly scaling planes of the Dream, infused with the power of the Cosmos, and the sight of the Eldritch Truth. And with that superhuman insight came the knowledge of the cruelties of Yharnam. The sins of Byrgenwerth, of the Choir, of the School of Mensis. And so the ascended beast, enraged, came down from the heavens themselves to reign judgement upon the wicked in the form of rapturous lightning. Now that it has completed its task, a certain nameless hunter must quell its rage, and convince it to return from whence it came.

Alex made a community post about it 5 months ago where he talkes about that someone supposedly from Bandai namco game music has issued two takedowns for his videos and (threatened to do more) he got scared so he private most of his dark souls 3 musics, but that’s the most that I know. Alex still has his community posts up though so feel free to check it out. Absolutely beautiful music and so glad I can listen to it again on my playlist
