And helping her get they're Child. In honesty, it was just possibly another way to gain some mutual trust between the two so they could go their separate ways and live 'a happy life'. That, of course, changed after he turned himself in, adding to the fact that Alana was really playing with fire treating Hannibal like shit. And of course hannibal held a grudge. I would too honestly if I was stripped out from my own humanity like that with no toilet etc
