I prefer the ambient lighting in my 2023 hybrid limited. It goes across the entire dash. The 24’ is still very nice

yeah i couldn’t agree more on this, the ambient lighting was better in the pre facelift. I will say though that the LEDs under the display on the facelift gets brighter, so it’s a little more noticeable even in daytime conditions

How do you charge the sonata hybrid EV? Does it automatically charge when you fill up the gas tank?
@jacyy13 күн бұрын
You don’t need to! The battery automatically recharges while you drive, while you brake, and basically anytime the engine is on. The car will always maintain 25% minimum SoC. The battery in the car is so small that it doesn’t really take much energy to charge up.

I test drove an X1 with Pro package and there is a setting to keep lane keep assist on without cruise. It did not work great however when compared to fully active with cruise. Is open Pilot something I should look into on my 19 Alltrack that has basic ACC and Lane Keep. Will Auto Pilot require me to touch or move the steering wheel similar to the stock system every 10 or so seconds. I don't think the Alltrack system is very good (Lane keep is only fair) and would love to upgrade it. I also have a 23 530 with the pro package like the X1 in the video. My 5 series works better when not in cruise compared to the X1. On cruise both systems seem to work the same.

your video is great but I'd like to verify something. I have driven cars with LED headlights and some, not all, have a very sharp cutoff, vertically speaking. As I see you pull next to a fence the sonata appears to have this sharp cutoff between light and dark. the cutoff appears to occur right in the of the field of vision (vertically speaking). Is that correct? Does it bother anyone when driving at night? Does anyone know whether the 2025 Kia EX any different?

The Bass on the Razer whilst more subdued is clearer has more definition, and the whole sound is more balanced. Anyway I'll find out Tomorrow :D

wait confused, is this not hyundais stock adaptive cruise control? And if it isn't what did you think of their stock system?
@jacyy4 ай бұрын
This is a mix of both! Hyundai’s stock system is controlling the gas/brakes, while openpilot is taking over the steering. Hyundai’s stock system is good, but requires lane lines to be visible and can sometimes be hesitant on sharper curves. openpilot improves that and with their e2e model capabilities, does not require any lane lines visible to function.

Considering this very very heavily as my next car. Coming from an 03 Elantra GT. I will be doing a lot of 500 mile trips on the regular so the huge range is a huge thing for me and im a huge fan of what Hyundai especially with styling plus the warranty is fantastic and im used to Hyundai. Saw a 24 sonata the other day and it’s gorgeous imo. Question tho. Can you manually put the car into an EV only mode? I know the car does it on its own sometimes. I assume not but. Also would you say it’s worth it? I saw you say in another comment saying it’s as quiet as a bmw which really does speak volumes since I’ll be doing 9 hour trips super often. I was considering the Elantra Hybrid Limited but i want something with a bit more room.
@jacyy4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately there is no way of putting the car into EV only mode. There is a “Green Zone” mode, which will maximize EV mode when near parks/schools, but that’s about it. It kinda makes sense that it doesn’t have this option since it would realistically only last you a few miles anyways before you completely drain the battery. I’ve noticed that the way the Hybrid system works is that if you’re constantly on the gas (like on the freeway), it will use the engine until your battery gets recharged to 75%, then kick into EV only mode until 50%. You can always let go of the gas pedal and start coasting a bit to force it into EV mode as well. I love the car, no regrets on buying it. There are some rattles that have developed over my 3 months of ownership now, but nothing too crazy. Regarding noise, I just recently rented a 2021 Toyota Camry and WOW it is SO LOUD in comparison. I will say, the Sonata does have a bit more wind noise, but overall noise levels are better in the Sonata. I can’t stand how loud the Camry is even at low speeds.

@jacyy4 ай бұрын
@@mrwolf2898 yes, same harness! (Hyundai A). It's very easy to hide the wire; I took it one step further and pulled the wire behind the side airbag (this is not necessary tbh), that pillar cover pops off and pops back in with a clip. You can then hide everything behind the weather stripping, which you can then funnel into the cabin fuse box area/OBD2 area for a super clean look.

Hii Jacy Quick Question is the 7k $ diffrance is justified in Limited Hybrid vs Hybrid SEL
@jacyy4 ай бұрын
Great question but I think this comes down to your preferences. Do you 1) want leather & ventilated seats? 2) want more tech? (e.g. 360 camera, front parking sensors, full digital cluster, ambient lighting, 3) want a panoramic sunroof? If anything above is a dealbreaker to you, then get the Limited Hybrid. Personally some of these are dealbreakers to me, so I didn’t even bother shopping for the SEL and went straight for the Limited. $7K is not cheap for an upgrade, but if you think about it like this; $38k msrp for the Limited trim is a very good deal for what you get.
@ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0028 күн бұрын
I just test drove both trim packages and for me, a few more bling lights and a potentially leaky sun roof wasn’t worth the extra $7K. I drove home the SEL model and dropped the extra $7k onto my down payment. That made the most sense to me but of course, your mileage may vary.

Yes, but you would lose out on auto emergency braking when using openpilot to control gas/brakes. Fyi, newer Hyundai models give you the choice to select reaction, acceleration, and distance for SCC; my 24 Sonata follows closer and accelerates faster than my 21 Sonata did
