Awesome! I thought it would be a lot worse, what Hyundai harness did you get? Hyundai A?

Still waiting mine to come. Did a factory order. Since no dealers around my area, didn’t have the color I wanted, Transmission blue.

Definitely the 2024. Both handling and suspension feel much nicer on the facelift!

hey I saw a few videos that you have showing Vision only ACC, does it work without a radar installed in the car? I was planning to purchase a hyundai Elantra N however it seems they haven't added radar and adaptive CC to the car.
@jacyy3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately it is not officially supported since the car doesn’t come with ACC

Is the pilot standard?
@ThiagoAraujo-hh6xu2 ай бұрын
I've noticed that newer Hyundai models maintain too much distance from the cars in front when driving on the highway. This causes other cars to frequently cut in between, which is annoying. Does anyone know if this can be adjusted with OpenPilot?
@jacyy2 ай бұрын
Yes, but you would lose out on auto emergency braking when using openpilot to control gas/brakes. Fyi, newer Hyundai models give you the choice to select reaction, acceleration, and distance for SCC; my 24 Sonata follows closer and accelerates faster than my 21 Sonata did

have the 2024 n line and was wondering how hard was it to tuck the wires into the trim to get it looking neat?
@mrwolf28982 ай бұрын
Also are you using the harness for the '21-'23 model year?
@jacyy2 ай бұрын
@@mrwolf2898 yes, same harness! (Hyundai A). It's very easy to hide the wire; I took it one step further and pulled the wire behind the side airbag (this is not necessary tbh), that pillar cover pops off and pops back in with a clip. You can then hide everything behind the weather stripping, which you can then funnel into the cabin fuse box area/OBD2 area for a super clean look.

Do you have to touch the steering wheel every so often or it kicks you off.

Without openpilot: yes; with openpilot: no
@chilloff5948Ай бұрын
wait confused, is this not hyundais stock adaptive cruise control? And if it isn't what did you think of their stock system?
@jacyyАй бұрын
This is a mix of both! Hyundai’s stock system is controlling the gas/brakes, while openpilot is taking over the steering. Hyundai’s stock system is good, but requires lane lines to be visible and can sometimes be hesitant on sharper curves. openpilot improves that and with their e2e model capabilities, does not require any lane lines visible to function.
@chilloff5948Ай бұрын
@@jacyy Ok cool! Hopefully picking one up tomorrow. And I'll have to look into that openpilot system

How loud is it when the engine kicks in? Is it bad or still kinda quite?
@jacyy3 ай бұрын
You honestly barely hear it.. if you’ve ever driven a car with auto start/stop, it’s like 10x quieter than that. When you’re accelerating, you’ll hear the engine, but it’s much quieter than the 1.6T. And the transition between EV and Engine, you can barely tell half the time

Looking at pulling the trigger on the limited. Is this open pilot tech something that would mess with a warranty? I noticed it seems experimental also, is it available for your average joe or only to developers?
@jacyy3 ай бұрын
By law, it cannot void your vehicles warranty, unless it directly causes whatever you’re warranting to break. The system is undetectable by the manufacturer/dealer, all that it does is it suppresses the CANBUS messages that the car sends, and instead uses those same messages to control the steering. It’s not like tuning a car’s engine, where you’re directly modifying a car’s firmware / ECU; instead you’re just sending messages that it would otherwise send itself, but better. Your average joe can install this! There are a lot of users of openpilot don’t class themselves as developers, just users. :)
