Apparently that is an Oldsmobile 260 ci V8 engine. According to Google you could get this car with your choice of Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile OR Chevrolet engines. Lol that is wild

That's a nice Skylark👍 they make very good cars, and they're built to last. mine's a 1977 Buick Skylark. I had two, but sadly, I ended up wrecking one of them :-(

My Valve seals will NOT go on. I bought Fel Pro & DNJ rock ones which look just like the ones I have. I tried a socket with a hammer & they will not seat fully. No matter how hard i hit it, there’s still wiggle room.

Did any transmission fluid come out when you pulled your cv axle out? I had about a quart and half come out. I'm kinda scared to drive it now

Fine video, gave me great ideas. What worked best for me was to remove the front wheel bearing hub, then upper ball joint. Super easy to get at CV axle, just a bit challenging to remove. Don't compromise on safety.

There is no rubber tip on yz80 needle. Check your choke plunger as it can flood engine. Replace float,needle,and needle valve. Set float height and enjoy. Some carb issues can drive you nuts 🤪

That 260 is an Oldsmobile engine. Treated right, it'll run forever, although it's not terribly powerful. Parts will be hard to find, since the car is as old as it is. You can interchange many parts from Novas, Pontiac Phoenixes and Olds Omegas; also Cutlasses, Monte Carlos and Regals. I restored a '77 Skylark years ago with parts from several cars. All I can say is 'Knock Yourself Out!'

Hey bro! Working on my 01YZ250 on my reeds cause the bike was really hard to kick start, was having to bump started and all that. Anyway question is: is it necessary to run two gaskets or only one? One between the cylinder head and the Reed cage and one between the rubber boot and the Reed cage, essentially sandwiching the Reed cage with gaskets. My bike didn't have any gaskets at all and there was gaps on the reeds and also a chip in one.

as a 40yr veteran of the auto body industry...I would recommend that you repair that dent on the right bedside instead of cutting it out and welding in a patch panel. even if you're not an expert I think you would better result...maybe you have a professional rough it out for you if you don't feel qualified.. you can probably get access for some pry tools though the tail light hole.. hope that helps..cool truck..I love the 67-72 C10's...have had several over the years..

A Chevrolet Nova, built by Buick, with an Oldsmobile V8 in it...
@TheREALOC1972 Жыл бұрын
Yep but then again the Base Novas, Omegas, Ventura's had the Buick 3.8 V6 (231 CID) in it.... that's what was great about these cars, GM saved alot of money that way by using the best of any of the brands they had, My best Friend in High School had a 78 Nova that had the 3.8 V6 in it that I have in the 79 Buick Skylark that I just bought, the ONLY difference is that his Nova was a Burnt Orange Hatchback and my Skylark is a White but in primer now Coupe. When I first got it I called him up and after we cleaned it up we went for a ride like old times.
