That was way too difficult. Three lines running through the circumference shows you the center.

Wouldn’t you just fine the OD then find the center??? That looks like the dude to sit there and go thru 20 different time killing steps to do one simple thing… dude must get paid by the hour…. Ridiculous. And everyone here is baffled 😂 crazy

I was too busy learning about what happens when to smash two atoms together, and why X equals 47. Who in their right mind would ever find it useful to know where the centre if a circle is, where you can name who the Chancellor of the Exchecker was in 1769. School taught me many useful things e.g. I know how the Ozone Layer works, but I have no idea how to change the oil in my car.

what a moron , Pivot your ruler until you come up with the largest measurement you can find , Diameter no matter where it is , 1/2 that measurement ,

Pro Tip: The closer you position two lines to a right angle, the sharper and more defined the resulting cross will appear.

It's actually more impressive to find the center using only a compass, like I believe the ancients did. They did not rely on rulers. A compass could be made with string and chalk. Not only can it make a perfect circle, you can use it to find the center.
@salvation6137 сағат бұрын
I mean if its a proper circle you can just find the to longer points on the measuring tool an and cross them + Can always double check the intersecting with a square.🤷♂️

The two chords don’t need to be the same length, even. Just bisect any two chords and the bisectors will insect at the center of the circle.

They tried to teach me that at school for 10 years with no avail, and this man comes along and teaches me in 30 seconds. 😮

Just wanna say: it's not necessary for the lines to be the same lenght, just draw any two lines inside the circle and the perpendiculars from their middle points will always intersect in the circle's center :)
@DougTown10 сағат бұрын
Such an awful construction. We need to take two perpendiculars and two midpoints? How about one of each… Draw any chord on the circle. Take the perpendicular from where it meets the circle. Connect the subsequent chords to form a right angled triangle and measure the midpoint of the hypotenuse. I’m not even saying this is good construction, but it’s so much better than the video and took me 30 seconds to come up with.

@kentonmorris818813 сағат бұрын
Could also just measure the diameter and find half. To find diameter put starting edge on wherever you like on the edge and pivot to longest measurement and you now have your diameter. Half of that is your radius measurement which should tell you exactly where center is
@connorbland244315 сағат бұрын
Or you measure the circle and divide by 2
@jude030315 сағат бұрын
Doesn’t have to be the same length. Just find the bisector of the two segments and where them lines meet is the centre
