Danny hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas I sure love that Arrowana. I just wish i had a tank big enough for one. I just don't think my 180 is big enough for one. Maybe some day I will fall into finding a big enough tank at a decent price but for now its just a dream...

If you get a bunch of Assassin snails, then they will breed and multiply like most snails do. For a 20 gallon tank you would probably only need 2 or 3. But I would take a different route to get rid of snails. There's the chemical called Oh No, it's safe for fish but not invertebrates and some plants. Or you can get some types of fish or gobys that will get rid of snails. If you have a puffer fish 🐡 then the snails could be a food source for it. But you don't have one. I think Tiger barbs are another one but I'm not sure about the name. But you can google it and find out for sure. There are several more but I can't remember all of them. Sorry. But as long as you don't overfeed your fish, then the snail population will stay small and they will help keep your tank clean. They eat algae and the slime off of the glass and rocks and decorations. They also eat fish poop and all of the little bits of food missed by the fish. Their population will only grow to the size that is equal to the amount of food that can support them. I love my pond snails 🐌. They're much more of a benefit to my tank than they are a pest to me. We have a Pet Supplies Plus near us. I have always been impressed by the cleanliness of their tanks. We have become friends with the young lady that is in charge of the Aquatics. Unlike a lot of Big Box store employees she is very knowledgeable about aquariums and fish. She also has trained the people under her so no one is going to sell you that cute little Common Pleco to eat algae in your 10 gallon tank for the next 10 years.

They're ok for a little while in freshwater but need to convert to brackish water. I'll be acclimating them slowly this week into brackish water.

Beautiful setups and fish! I feel your pain on trying to catch that Salvini. I am always reluctant to add fish to my big tank because catching anything if it needs to come back out is a nightmare. Many years ago I made the mistake of adding a red terror; he tried to murder everything in the tank and it took me over 2 hours to catch him. I have a 6" mesoheros gephyrus in a 70G all by himself because I'm worried that he will be a menace to the other fish if I add him to the 770.
