I just read a comment about Mrs. June French appearing older than 21years of age. Please keep in mind this is an old film black snd white not color. Which may enhance age appearence.

It's not even close. The quick wit with no profanity or gross bodily function jokes makes today's comedians look 2 inches tall compared to the giants of comedy from the Golden Age of entertainment. Steven Wright does it without needless profanity and smut but I'm not sure if there any others.

Thanks for the info. Sad to learn that by the time this show was filmed Albert Hall had lost three of his four children! I don't know the circumstances. Incredible to think after all that he still was able to make us laugh.

Thanks. Learning that people I feel as though I've just met, are actually now no more than just the flickering remains of light of the already dead and gone is the only thing I dislike about watching these films. Yet, why don't we apply that sentimentality to those of the here and now, and not just to those who dwelt here, too, and who are familiar to each of us only because they breathed and eat, but in very little else, because the times and places in which we lived are so dissimilar ? When we pass by those familiar doorways each day, over the years, with each succession of passing tennants behind them unknown to us increasing in number, we daily reduce whatever was the total number of chances we first had to walk up those paths, knock, and have them open the door to us. Yet if we did, should we, should they, regret it after meeting, and vow never to do so again ? I see now I've written this that what I'm saying is these films are piercing, unbearably accusing reminders, like photographs, of the lost opportunities to love and to be kind to each other. Ah, life ! (By the way how, please, do you know about them ? Also, why did he stare, and speak so emphatically ? The loss of the women for me is particularly, unbearably acute). Thanks.
