I think you can take it out of the sheath and grip the blade between you thumb and index finger and flick the handle downwards to open it with a snapping down motion ? try it.

My dad got me a 5x Seratelli when I was little and I loved that hat so much that when I turned 18 I got a 6x and it was the best investment I’ve ever made. I don’t believe in all the cowboy hat rules like the hat on the bed is bs to me and so is the whole you can only wear felts and straws after these specific dates (obviously the respect rules stand). The biggest mistake I see people making though is getting a hat before any kind of boots
@gearup95037 күн бұрын
That’s awesome my friend, i get what your saying about the hat rules but i’ve noticed in my personal life it really boosted my confidence. Yes for the first few times tipping your hat to a lady feels awkward but after a while it’s become second nature.

Na it really doesn't matter. But I am different down in Florida you see the straw hats a lot during summer. I use felt year round. Use the old trick of weting the hat on the inside ( I use the steson crushable for that) But I guess the water trick doesn't go over well in a car vs horse or tractor

I really wasn't either. I worked a lot of cows and horses including our own. But the working cowboy pay was so low I worked off the farm and had the second non payed job for dad on my off time The sell barn was 50-75 $ + lunch for a days work the day started at 7 am and went until the last stock was loaded on a trailer. Could be from 6pm to 1 am

A Buck auto 110 is the best knife you can buy. The handle scales are the best material for a knife period. And it locks into place secure. You can trust this knife.

Appreciated your practical, honest appraisal of this timeless classic! So glad you addressed the weight issue, I carried lighter options for years back in the day, but as you pointed out, this is Not a pocket knife. A feature often over-looked is the one piece bolster/liner design, certainly unique and adds to the strength! Hope many more folks will buy and enjoy this American classic! Blsgs, gg🙏✝️🙋❤️☝️🇺🇸

Would NEVER go back to Zippos after buying a wee Imco. Fuel retention is excellent, and half the weight of a Zippo. I also bought a beautifully-engraved Zorro Zippo 'look-alike' last week BUT have had to just use it as a sort of static table lighter because of the weight. I kid you not - Zorros are twice the weight of a Zippo, and bigger too, so if you have small hands, it's a 2-handed job using it, and if you wear shorts in summer, then this lighter will have them down around your knees in no time. It's simply too heavy to be a practical every-day carry I'm afraid, even though the fuel retention is excellent too, like the Imcos. Pity. Such a beautifully engraved lighter.😢

from what I've heard from others Zorro users, they are more of a desk lighter.

When I was in the Catskill mountains in 1985 I stopped into the Schrade factory store in Ellenville, NY. I bought a rigger's knife to use on my sailboat and keep in my tacklebox. The second knife was an Uncle Henry LB7. I still have it 39 years later. In my opinion it was superior to the Buck 110 in fit and finish, and it's still working like the day I bought it.

Stetson and Resistol make great cowboy hats, but also try Akubra (Australian) hats! 100% rabbit fur, softer and very well made. I get many compliments! Love the down turned brim for good sun coverage of my Coober Pedy and Coolabah (with Croc hatband) models and they have the Kiandra and Snowy River models for a more 'western" look as well as many others such as their best selling "Cattleman". The Stetson Rawlings is also a favorite of my collection.

I am not a cowboy. Period. And I've become way too old to start being one. However, I love cowboy boots and cowboy hats. There's something about them that make me feel more myself, these days. So I wear them. A lot. I will never go full-blown cowboy with the full fashion sense, because I'm not a cowboy. I feel wearing the full-on fashion for something I'm not, disrespects the real cowboys. And, to be honest, I'm told by women that I look damn good in them boots and hats. Who am I to argue? 😊

Great review of the 110 Buck knife. I bought my first 110 this week to replace my 24 year old, JA Henckels locking folder. The 110 is larger and not a pocket carry knife but it is an all-around woods and working knife. It is not a cheap knife, but surprisingly affordable when compared to other quality EDC blades. The belt holster is fine for my purposes these days.
