I have a question about Gaussian Splatting. Does anyone know if original art - like a painted landscape - can be turned into a gaussian splat? Or does it have to be photographic in nature?

Not an expert on this, but usually it has to be pulled from a video or through photogrammetry (bunch of pictures of the same object/landscape from different angles). If you manage to perfectly paint something dozens of dozens of times from different angles then yes, but it sounds impossible to me. Maybe if you use some sort of AI software to interpret the painting as a 3D scene, render out the different angles, then maybe you could do it, but Im not sure it would turn out great.

Why are you acting like this is a new thing. Gaussian splatting is photogrammetry and it has been around for absolute ages... Also most professional vfx artists won't use this ever, because they have 3D scanners they use to capture their scenes and it's much faster and more accurate

Has anyone had any stalling of the training progress, mine's stuck at this line of code in the Open Web UI : [2024-09-17 10:14:48] [INFO] return Variable._execution_engine.run_backward( # Calls into the C++ engine to run the backward pass If anyone has an idea what this could be I'd appreciate it, in the meantime I'll let it run for hours and see if it'll update any further.

as long, as they don`t say,, pls, face should only be covered by indoor light, no sun light, they will create outdoor pictures with a face under indoor light

I make AI short films and wanna train custom Loras for consistent characters and this video was really helpful. Thank you! Ps. Kling AI professional mode and image-to-video will produce better videos than Runway with more natural movement, at least in my experience.

Wish you had actually shown the wireframe of the models produced with this method. I bet they are very messy and will require a lot of retopology to make it work in a pipeline
