Good review but you didn’t say what the 0-60 time was!
@RemoveBeforeLaunch8 күн бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, that's a good point! So the official figures claim about 5.6 seconds to 60. It was tricky to get a decent time as the weather was cold and wet and the airstrip tarmac was awful. My time was about 6.5 seconds but I would expect it to be quicker in better conditions and on decent tarmac. I wouldn't doubt the official claims.

Hi just looking to buy one Today I saw a 1.6 cdti diesel and 1.4 turbo petrol elite, both is 2016 but petrol on is 1£ expensive, what is the best option? What engine is more reliable? I’m do about 70 miles a day motorway
@RemoveBeforeLaunchАй бұрын
Check out the forums to get an idea on reliability between the two. The diesel is pretty solid but you do get issues with the DPF. I’m not familiar enough with the petrol to advise. With that mileage the efficiency of the diesel might pay off. Depending on how you drive the petrol could return something in the mid 40’s to the gallon whereas the diesel should be mid 60’s. I tend to find smaller capacity petrols struggle to return decent figures if you drive them quite hard. Also do a comparison based on the cost at the pump and keep an eye on what the government might announce in the budget. It could impact one more than the other, who knows at the moment🤷🏻♂️ I would say however that generally people seem to be happy with whichever variant they go for so it probably comes down to general driving preference and runnings costs if you’re mileage is going to be higher. I’ll pin this up and see if anybody else has any feedback.

Difficult for me to answer as I’ve never had the chance to drive the Mercedes. From what I’ve read the BMW always has the edge on the driving experience. However the Mercedes will be the slightly nicer, more comfortable place to sit. From my experience the BMW was very comfortable, a very nice drive and I loved the engine and drive train. However the Merc being a coupe will offer a slightly different proposition. Maybe not as practical but will probably feel a little more special. It’s really going to boil down to personal preference and what’s most important to you. And unfortunately only you can answer that. I’ll pin this up though, perhaps somebody else can give their thoughts

Getting a 2021 m440i w 45k miles, thinking of passing on the warranty. Thoughts?
@RemoveBeforeLaunch3 ай бұрын
@@k.m.f369 Firstly, nice car choice👍 Difficult to say. Overall the reliability seems to be pretty decent with those engines and the general mechanics. Mileage isn’t too high and it’s still a pretty new car. I assume it’s not long out of warranty. Which means any issues should’ve been dealt with. Are you getting warranty with the car? Is it from a BMW dealership? Also, if it is a dealer ask them for the service report on the car to see if it’s had any reoccurring issues etc. You can still ask even if you’re not buying it from BMW. If you get a warranty with the car then you could see what you think for the first few months. Then take a view and if you have any concerns you can take a warranty out before the initial warranty term comes to an end. The thing is, as mentioned in the video, what I paid for the warranty over the time I owned the car wasn’t far off what I could’ve probably got the repairs done for. However if they turbo had gone a couple of years sooner then it I would’ve been well ahead. I would base it on the overall quality of the car, the service report, how you think it’s been looked after, how many miles are you going to do in it, do you take it easy or do you want to get the most out of the performance and how long will you be keeping it for. If you want peace of mind contact BMW and ask them what the warranty options are. For a newer, lower mileage car the monthly amount might not be bad at all and it could be a good option. If however they’re asking silly money then I’d consider putting that amount into a separate interest account and let that build up. If anything does come up you’ll have a chunk towards it, and if you get no significant issues, you’re quids in and it can go towards you next car! Not financial advice😂😂 Sorry it’s not a definitive answer, I’d hate to advise one thing and the worst happens. Whatever you decide I hope you have an awesome experience with your new car🙂

@@RemoveBeforeLaunch , it deppends on engine type. 1.5 TDCI is manufactured in 3 variants : 95 HP, 105 HP and 120 HP . I guess, the lower the engine power, the braking force needed is also lower. Thus, on 120 HP we have rear callipers, on 95 HP we have drums.
