I would have put the name of the employee on the left, by rows, and the skill at the top. Then 1 column for rating. Or 1 column for each skill rating.

William, What do you think about making the shell of a trash can out of the flex pipe, that way you can put the bag on the pipe while it's out in the open? It would be a lot easier...easier comes first.

Where does the water disappear to? Is it evaporating?
@1866dialedm
@1866dialedm 7 ай бұрын
Rob, where does the water go. Well, some of it might "splash" out of the machine, be on parts when they are removed. Some likely evaporates by normal life. Some might evaporate during the machining process I would assume, as the spark is extremely hot, to "melt" steel. And I'm sure some of it is in the air as a fine invisible mist. Those would be some of my guesses. We might add water once or twice a week depending on how much we use the machine. Hope that answers your question
@RobertDinTulsa

It sounds like most of your evaporative loss would be captured by placing a lid on it. Food for thought.

since filters are almost always changed on a time basis (for example i change the small machine filters monthly and the aux filters every 3 months) this is overcomplicated. you just keep a stock of filters and order them a couple times a year with the other slow use consumables right after you check inventory. that way you always have a couple spares on the shelf just in case and save yourself the logistical clutter.
@1866dialedm
@1866dialedm 7 ай бұрын
SuperAWaC thanks for your comments. These filters are not changed on a "schedule". They are changed when they get clogged up. AKA when the back pressure gets too high the machine stops. The cost of changing these filters is a little over $400 per change per machine. In addition we have 3 machines like this, which use 2 different filters. We keep the "extra" set of filters at the machine for easy replacement. But as always thanks for your comments.

I have a custom made quoting in whatever MS Office database program is. It was done 15 years ago has all our different machining processes etc. than put the number into our accounting software as a quote.

Nothing drives me more crazy than when my family buys things we already have just because they didn't know we had it. This results in us having way too much of the thing and I basically throw the excess thing directly in the garbage. Instant waste.

@1866dialedm

Rob, we have ran a tap down these holes over the years, drilled them deeper. it would require a larger size, deeper hole or put in an insert. This for now works just fine.

I don't know if I understand everything correct. How many customers could you save like this?
@1866dialedm
@1866dialedm 11 ай бұрын
We do repeat work and all our customers are repeat customers for 15 - 25 years. About half are local and may not require UPS shipping the others do. So I we have about 40 entries into our UPS address book, 20-25 of them are "regulars" which we will do this with. The programming will only require one or two line edits. I than plan on automating the next part of this, which would be to get the shipping costs and add that to the invoice and print / email out the invoices. I see other than inputting the invoice number, that I will only hit 2 or 3 buttons on the stream deck and the shipment will be complete including the invoice and sending the invoice. Other than typing in the invoice number once I should not have to touch the keyboard or mouse.
