Years ago, it was the go-to budget submariner. Today, with budget Far East offerings, this affordable beloved submariner is behind the times. I have owned several of these in 40mm: blue, black, and two-tone. Years ago when I I first got started in this hobby, I have modded, gifted, flipped, tortured tested, and wore them often. My first automatic diver was the Invicta Pro Diver 40mm. If Invicta was to up-rate this thing with sapphire (no "flame fushion" junk crystal), made the thickness thinner, and enlarged the markers and hands, I would get another one. Unfortunately, I do not foresee Invicta doing that. I will always keep my one and only Pro Diver, the classic 8926OB.

Interesting. But insufficient water resistance to be a field watch.
@watchlife_reviews2 күн бұрын
@@larryfromwisconsin9970 I agree although I think the approach for Bulova was just revive nostalgia not necessarily make a true field watch. So I think this falls under a field style watch vs a true field watch. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for watching I got a true field watch review coming soon. A peace sent to me by a company. Rich history? You kept saying that….it has nothing to do with this watch. And 3 atmospheres is a lot more than splashes capable. The watch looks pretty good.

I purchased this version of the bambino several months ago, and since then it's in my rotation. I'm very satisfied with it. Keep in mind that this model is indeed a strap monster - although the number of 21mm straps is still limited, compared with 20 or 22mm. Excellent review, please continue your good work. So on field there is no water ??? What about rivers and lakes ?? Fed up of those bull shit watches just like hamilton no 100 m meterswater resistance no sapphire with AR coating on the inside = no buy ....am i clear !!!! we are not all dumb people since chinése Ali express are able to do it for 100 $......come on stop taking us for dumb people. And i have o problem with 500 $ !!!!
@tillterilltilltill10 күн бұрын
Only 3bar WR on an outdoor field watch is a real shame. For the peace of mind even Hamilton's 5bar is a bummer. These type of watches should be 100m WR IMO. Otherwise it's a stunning piece! The black dial and pvd case version with red numerals as well.
@lorettashumate4468 күн бұрын
Three bar is plenty, it is not a dive watch. When will you ever exceed 100 feet of depth while adventuring?

It's a very nice strong watch but I think they definitely should of at least given the watch 50 meters or better still 100 meters water resist. Think Bulova missed out here.
@aaronb.449911 күн бұрын
I mostly agree. However, 30m WR is truly plenty, that's nearly 100ft pressure rating which would likely never be used to its potential. The idea was a size that could accompany most wrists comfortably while maintaining most of its original war time aesthetics. following your statment in regards to the WR, It would be nice to see them use an acrylic crystal (like the original) and provide 100m wr, and up grade the movt. to a Miyota 9039 4hz which also give the watch a slimmer profile.
@Lebon99611 күн бұрын

Rarely do i see years down the road reviews but it's obvious this timepiece has won you over regardless of some of its shortcomings which are no more than the much regarded SKX , i've always liked the look of this Orient but the movement just not for me personally but if they had made this as a hand winding mechanical this would've been hands down a budget classic . Gad to see it's served you well & proof its the intangible things that bring the love not the Expense ... btw how was tha accuracy ?

I never understood the 24 hour register. I know if it's day or night. I suppose it assists with knowing if the date is about to change when your setting it after a period of none wear but that's not worth the clutter on the dial IMO. Lots of mfg do it though so maybe it's just me
@watchlife_reviews20 күн бұрын
@@gmancubsfan2024 no I’m starting to agree with that. All though this watch having the day complications not including that 24hr sub dial would have thrown it off. But I’m not a fan of it either. Less is more.

Does nobody care that the hands are basically unreadable? The lume parts are not significant enough to offset what is basically thin black hands on a dark grey background.
