People these guns are NOT made by Springfield Armory they are DISTRIBUTED by them. They are great guns but will never be a Glock killer Keep in mind over 80% of police departments use Glock for a reason. Good luck having them change. As far as it beating the Glock killer it has a very long way to go.

The Springfield Armory Echelon will get you killed. When you put a G19 slide on a G47 (full sized) grip you get a G45. To see that the Echelon has that modularity is a point in favor, imo. The problem is that if you run the risk of over inserting an extended magazine and causing a malfunction, then you will definately cause a malfunction if you are in a real fight and are reloading with an entended magazine on an empty chamber and with the slide back. You cannot over insert a Glock ''happy stick'' because they are designed to prevent that from happening. The Echalon looks like an awesome range toy, maybe up to competition worthy, but I wouldn't trust my life or my family's securtity on it. Out of all the channels I have seen reviewing the Echelon, you are the only one that has bothered to mention this detail. Thanks for your honesty. This is ''need to know'' info for anyone thinking on purchasing this product for defensive purposes.

Thanks for the comment and so true about the mags! I know you could put an extended base plate on it but like you said a long Glock mag does not have those type of issues!

You press the trigger after the slide locks back when trying to shoot fast. You lower your pistol to meet the incoming fresh mag when reloading. But you have “tactical” in your channel name. Tells me all I need to know.

Every year a new Glock "killer" comes around, Sig P320, Sig XMacro, Walther PDP, etc. And yet, Glock is still king for many reasons; parts availability, magazines, and widespread use. One day it may happen. That day is not here yet
@TheRancor5323 сағат бұрын
If more LEO agencies adopt stuff like the Echelon, P10c, PDP, then maybe Glock will fade, but departments are so locked in based on parts available and armorer training- private market is definitely moving on though. A Gen 6 Glock with all these features but Glock internals and slightly improved yet duty grade trigger would take the top spot again though.
@1stShotTactical23 сағат бұрын
Agreed! I’m curious to see if more LEO adopt the echelon or stick with glocks

According to the website. The 4.0c will have a version with a threaded barrel. So we could put a Harrington Arms comp on it potentially.

The slide not locking back is likely a grip issue. Ive never had that problem with my full size echelon. And the trigger reset is a simple fix. Pick up a trigger from tyrant cnc. Almost no creep and has a much better reset.

As a lifelong mechanic, heavy machinery and aircraft. I see issues with modular pistols. It's possible over time that modular housing might become a loose fit over time.

9:36 -- This is exactly what I was wondering, if I could put my 4.5F slide on the compact grip module -- I have two 4.5F Echelons and seeing this proof of concept I could essentially convert one of them to an Echelon 4.5Fc for reduced printing or even go with the 5.28" threaded barrel to make it a 4.5Fc+! This is awesome, I feel like like this opens the doors for the Echelon modular ecosystem to really expand... I think there are many people like me who envisioned the "compact" Echelon to be pretty much just a reduced-printing (shorter) grip module and with corresponding magazines. If I knew what I was doing I would totally be drawing up plans for exactly that now that SA has made the physically smaller magazines a reality but left a gap in the grip module lineup.

Agreed! I really enjoyed swapping the parts around… opens the door to a bunch of customization in the future!

If your in a combat situation and just need it keep going before can clean it sure. if want keep that rifle running and last long as possible no this is absolutely not the way to do it. First the lube on top of the charger hand ar not doing anything for the overall function of the gun one drop is more then enough because only time it moves is when rack it. Dripping a few drops down into the gun right in front of the gas port with charge handle back just put more to where the top of the charger handle sits its needs be to the sides. Then putting it in the gas exhaust ports may get some to the gas rings but very inefficient way of doing it and most just gets blown out as soon as shot first shot. Then the biggest issues comes form just adding lube to a already dirty gun your just compiling more lube and failing this is just gumming the gun up especially id in dust rich environments. Its not hard to pull the pin in the rear flip it open and give it a fast wipe and lube the bcg contact the bcg can go Longer without lube but should be pulled apart and cleaned and lightly lube and put back together.

The real "Glock Killer" to me... has been Glock themselves... by simply failing to keep up. Glock did us all a great favor by opening the door to reliable polymer handguns -- I won't take that away from them -- but now Glocks themselves are increasingly relics of the past; A legendary past, but the past nonetheless.
@MustyFighterКүн бұрын
Great take !! a lot of these new pistols are just as reliable as the glock and offer a lot more out the box. Glocks are still great pistols, but why spend 700 on a glock mos and another 300-600 just to get it to the level of an echelon, pdp, shadow systems etc
@SplashOfOrangeКүн бұрын
@@MustyFighter good point about reliability, I meant to mention that. Proven reliability is pretty much the last feather in Glock's cap. It's an important feather -- reliability is king -- but as the new guns establish their own pedigrees that feather will be increasingly less unique until Glock simply no longer stands out at all. I have nothing against Glocks -- nothing at all -- just exactly what you said about overall value.

510C is trash, an oversized open emitter pistol optic. All it takes is the sun hitting that solar panel at the right angle to ruin the view through the window. Eotechs are only "fuzzy" if your eyes suck or when trying to capture the image with phone camera lol.
