Hello and greetings from Germany. And thank you for your detailed report. I have built an Aqua GSM 5kw from Nordkapp in the car. Unfortunately, the interior fan is not controlled, this should be done from 60 degrees. I am currently also with the Nordkapp support in the email traffic. Very unprofessional questions and tips are asked. I am currently waiting for an answer. The guarantee also seems to be just a cheap advertising promise. The burner works well but the electronics seem to be bad. At the delivery even the cable colors are swapped, red is minus and blue +😅

Can your bloated battery be replaced under the battery warranty? I installed a FirePower lithium battery in Jan. 2020 in my 2007 Triumph Speed Triple. I made no other adjustments to the bike. It’s now five years old and it tends to hold a charge of about 13 volts. I’ve never charged it or put it on a tender. I’m very curious as to why they haven’t replaced lead acid batteries all together. Tho I’m not super educated on the technology. I can’t get over how much lighter they are compared to the lead acid.

The Reason for this is that Councils have and still don't abide to the EU directives on road Management and road signage, TII and NTA Found over 300 breaches in Virginia N6 alone, this came about when a Bypass was planned so the Council took over the RMP through the town it has been taken back by TII because the bypass was cancelled. The government has to react to the poor compliance by Councils due to EU Commission 2021/1958 , and the Road Signage and Road Regulations 2023 and Road Traffic Act 2024. There is Loads More on this disgraceful Negligence by those who Manage the roads in Ireland has cost hundreds or possibly thousands of lost lives on the roads over the last nearly 30 years or so. the speed limit changes have nothing to do with road safety but to try and gloss over road management negligence.

Did you have to bore out the spark plug hole and rethread it ? If so how much did you have to increase the hole in size ?

I bought mine in 2022 and love it. Bought a new 2015 abs and TCS Tracer after piling up my 1000 multistrada. Niken occasionally surprises me when back wheel lets go, it is telling you not to push it anymore.

I will own a Niken……..eventually.

Great stuff, I have the same bike I think, XJ650 1991. It looks to be in the same state as your one seized, a mate gave it to me been left out for 5 years in all weathers, God help me, still I will have a go. Nice rebuild well explained. Have recently purchased an '83 XJ650 done 140,000km and not ridden since 2015 according to WOF records. After some days reorganising and replacing some parts I have started it and sounded okay but wont run after a few revs. We have good spark on all but centre cylinders don't appear to be firing as opposed to the outers as the plugs remain clean. The centre cyls are 90psi and outer at 110 and 120psi. Assume it might be valves not seating - your thoughts?

I love my Niken, I consider it my all weather bike, i certainly feel less on edge when riding in damp conditions. I do find the rear end a little twitchy though, for such a large tyre it appears to break traction on the standard tyres long before I would normally expect on a two wheel motorcycle. Like you I have fitted mudguards, although I feel they look a little ugly, they prevent your boys getting noticeably soaked in the rain. Can I ask what hand guards you have fitted?

Thanks for all the videos provided. I have an issue where my fuel pump can be hear buzzing even after the start and it seems to slowly drain my battery over time. The motorcycle is charging the battery perfectly well and it runs well with no performance issues but the continuous buzzing concerns me. Before replacing the fuel pump, should I check anything else?

General trend Motorcycles is down 100% correct. Manufacturers will not make " Sensible " bikes . Too expensive . Too big . Too Heavy . Loaded with crap and usless rubbish . Slipper clutches. Ride modes. Forward radar . No use 180/ 200 hp. 6 Speed gear boxes. Suprised nobody has thought of a button that jerks you off on the move. Young people are not interested at all. Old generation like me dying off.

Cost here is a rip off, look at the new Triumph speed 400 as one example, it costs 5500 Euros on the continent and 6800 in Ireland. The IBT adds to the hassle and cost now too. I passed my A test in July 2024 and absolutely love biking and I regret not doing it years ago ! Insurance is also a rip off and the 50cc market has been wiped out by the sale of those horrible battery kids scooters that everyone seem to be on today, no license, no training, no insurance, riding on footpaths, kids not supposed to be on them under 16 yet I see them all the time and sometimes 2 kids on one scooter. Anyway, motorbikes and petrol scooters are far more practical and we should be encouraging more people out of their ugly heavy SUVs but Irish people are addicted to their cars spending 40-50 K seems to be heading toward the average, cheap credit PCP and cars are a status Symbol in Ireland, can't have a car older than the neighbour and no way they could have a motorbike in the yard, the neighbours would think they'd gone bankrupt !

5:15 Every product page I've seen says the SH23's comes with a third lock fitting.

My Moto Guzzi Griso sounds the same with the dry clutch. Italian bikes. Great, at times irritating, fun. But you know you have a motorbike.

I had a 1982 XJ650RJC Seca. The C in the designation identifies it as the ultra-rare Canada-only version. This is the one even most Yamaha experts have never heard about. One apparent difference between my bikes and yours is that mine had Yamaha's YICS system. The first summer, my future wife and I packed our stuff and put ourselves and the bike on a plane bound for England. From there we rode on yto the continent and ultimately Italy. We were in our very early twenties and it was an unforgettable adventure. I ended up keeping that bike for 11 years during the earliest of which it was my only transportation. It even saw some snow storms. We all have that one bike we regret selling, mine is the 650 Seca.

Great job! I've got a second series Alpino with the balancer shaft. I'd be lying if I said it eliminates vibration, but it's a fun bike to ride, with good handling, great looks and an engine that likes to rev.

I did the same job to the same type of brake calipers yesterday. I've found that the performance of these brakes drops off after a while, so I pull the calipers off once a year and give it all a good clean and re-grease where needed. I don't remove the pistons, but pump them out a bit for cleaning, to make sure I've got everything. The pistons, replaced a few years ago, are stainless steel. I've had the bike for 18 years so the design of these brakes looks totally normal to me!

Seems the later ones with the different weight distribution and upgraded rear suspension are the ones to go for.

Thanks just finishing and took for test ride So I did it a little different I suspended the handlebars from the rafter in my shed and just unplugged the headlight Removed the headlight assembly but not completely just move to side , Obviously removed tire and tubes but your video was very informative thanks Ps I really like your handlebars that will be my winter project for my barn find

Enjoyed your video, good to get a fellow owners experience. I think your review is spot on, ive had the GT version since 2021. The add ons you've done look great, ive added mud flaps, they're a 100% must. The original luggage is poor and leaks or sweats with liners. Haven't fitted hand guards though my tracer Gt did have them and certainly noticed warmer drier hands. Do you have a link to them please, likewise the screen add on. I really think my pillion would appreciate that! The only negatives I can add are. 1. Insurance might be expensive as fewer companies will offer cover and I believe all stipulate overnight garaging. It is a very heavy beastie, scarves through corners beautifully but very tight slow hairpins need extra caution, you certainly feel every kilo of it trying to tip you. Im 3/4 the way through my Pcp now and 30km+ covered. Some serious thinking and negotiating on how I get the best deal to keep it after!

Would it be possible to leave out the pannier end pieces entirely so then u can mount both panniers whenever u want without having to unscrew anything? Whats the purpose of them anyway?
