Ford made this unexpectedly easy. It feels like an apology from the engineers for not being allowed to just include the trailer brake controller as standard equipment.

Hello, I am retired and looking to travel. Why did you choose a 5th wheel over a RV motorhome? Thank you.
@dg7of84 ай бұрын
I did this in my 2014 E250. All harnesses were in place however there was no power. Turns out because the factory controller was never installed, neither was the 30 amp fuse. Another ez fix. Excellent video. Thanks

That is beautiful, super effective in the space. Good use of the template. Now I am worried about cutting through the existing framing in the panel, and in whether I need to add new framing within the panel to support the window. That doesn't seem to have been an issue in your cause. How did it hold up?

thanks very helpful, was all the wires all ready ran to the back? mine are but there's no power to the brake (blue wire) in the 7 pin. I'm guessing this fix's it . do you have a part number for the wire adapter?
@wanderlust1012 жыл бұрын
Mine was pre wired, all I did was plug it in. I’ve found this Ford truck forum to be very helpful. www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php

@@wanderlust101 I seen it was pre-wired but there was an adapter going from your truck wiring to the brake controller. That's what I was wondering if you had a part number for that or if you had a store somewhere I could buy all that

@@wanderlust101 we have a Heartland North Trail 22RBK. They said it’s company policy that they can’t share the CAD drawings or blueprints 😞 We have a large space free of lights, vents or speakers right next to our AC in the ceiling but I don’t wanna start cutting and find out it’s going to interfere with the vent paths or electric paths 🫢

Thank you for such a straight-forward and helpful video. Quick question: how do you know before you cut that you're not going to run into any wires or pipes? I'm thinking about doing this in my kitchen area and I'd hate to cut something important.

You have to do your research. Cut an exploratory hole if needed. I was able to get drawings from Jayco. Good luck 👍
