Thank you for writing. 😊 I also thought about it, but I wonder whether it would be helpful or not. 🤔 The engine temperature reaches about 100⁰C, would the Loctite hold at that temperature? I know its melting point is around about 180⁰C. As was in doubt, I didn't do it or mentioned it in the video. I do appreciate you mentioning it though. 👍 Cheers! 🍻

You are quite a sensible man and your videos ar truly beneficial to an information seeker. I have 2 queries if you can clarify please: 1. What made you choose Him450 over KTM 390? 2. Long term ownership experience of the Him450. Thank you.
@WanderingSom26 күн бұрын
Thanks, Joe. I'm glad you found my videos helpful. I looked at the KTM and Triumph 400X before I decided on the Himalayan. I liked it because: 1] I'm familiar with RE bikes, 2] I wanted a bigger but lighter bike, and it fit the bill, 3] I like the sound of the engine, 4] it felt like a real bike while the others felt like toys, and 5] my wife liked it too. If I hadn't bought the Himy, I would have gotten the KTM Adventure 390. I've only done 2020 kms so far. I think I need to spend more time with it before I can write a review. I'll do it soon, though. Thanks again for your appreciation.

@@WanderingSom Thanks again. In point 2, I presume that you are comparing it with the Interceptor 650. Right?

Yes, I got used to that kind of machine. And if quite light after Interceptor.
@regorohan27 күн бұрын
RE got too adventurous by deleting the cradle frame, and not adding a high grade aluminium frame, like all the rest of the adventure bikes. Specially as the 450 engine has too much of vibration. this is an engineering defect and won't solve by band aid . it needs a re-design of the frame .

Very informative. Hope it solves the mystery surrounding the sherpa chassis story which is doing the roundabout. And wish Re as a company accepts the fact that not all customers can buy their stories nor crash guards jus for the sake of chassis breaking issue in 1 or 2 vehicles.

I, too, hope that issue is addressed if not completely resolved.

Proper information you have provided. The aftermarket guard fitters will not know the mechanics of the chassis and it’s an important factor to consider the right 45 Nm torque for the stresses to act upon correctly.

Same with my Discover 125 and my cousins pulsar 220F. Discover is my spare bike now and the 390 ADV my primary one. KTM service centres have been the main reason why I chose a KTM. Not saying the bike is perfect. But the mechanics are. Rest, follow ups are required everywhere.

Very informative video Som but the sad part is most of the RE service centers don't even have Torque renches and capable mechanics as shown in this video. In my case most of the nut n bolts have been tightened but not torqued. So it's only Ram brosaay. Any how 45 NM for the chassis and 70 NM for the axle bolt noted.

Hey there, Thanks for the message. These days, you've got some great options. You can choose between MRF and Reise. Reise is a bit more expensive, but MRF is really good. I used MRF tires for my last trip to Ladakh. They're dual-purpose tires. When you change the tires, make sure to get the spoke alignments checked. I'm sure you won't have any more wobbling issues after that. Ride safe and have fun!

Not ideal position, lights will easily attract dirt and chances of stone hit is most likely. U should fit near headlight
@WanderingSom2 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you regarding lights getting dirty or a stone hitting the glass. Look at it from a practical usability perspective. First, if the light is to be used as a fog lamp, it cannot go higher than 24" from the ground; otherwise, it is not effective. Second, the auxiliary lamps are very powerful, and when placed next to the headlight, the beam goes almost parallel to the ground, adversely affecting oncoming traffic. Lastly, according to the law, you can only put a fog light on your vehicle, not an auxiliary light. And fog lamps need to be closer to the ground (refer to the first point). Bearing all the above in mind, I concluded on the position of the lights. I hope I am able to provide a proper response. Cheers!
