One other thing I wonder about this game-- when you draw an Emergency! card (a callout to a specific location/rescue), and you start moving in its direction, do you spin and move that number of spaces, and then the other player takes a turn, or do you keep spinning and moving until you get to where the callout location is?

You just spin once unless you get one of the free spins on the wheel.

I've made several more layout videos since this video. It'll be a little while before I can make more since the layout's not set up yet since I moved in October. I'm wanting to get the garage it's in fixed up before getting things running again since if I start running trains again now, I'm just going to have to pack everything up again when I get the garage fixed up since I'll be moving the layout temporarily into the other garage while work's being done.

I was also saddened to hear of Allen Mcclelland's passing. I do have the book "The V&O Story" written many years ago and still refer to it this day. I have a few videos somewhere (VHS) that I bought years back, one of which is by Allen Keller. I am considering the latest book written by Tony Koester written after Allen's passing, but do favor the original V&O and I am not sure yet if that is the primary focus with this latest book. Would you know? Nice that you did a tribute with your V&O cars. Well done. All the best, Phil Jersey Shore Area

Tony's book mainly focuses on the original V&O but does look into the second layout and the friend of Allen's who models part of the V&O on his layout. Unfortunately I don't have the book with me at the moment since it's still boxed up in storage from my move in October.

I enjoyed the years I was in Hilliard (Now in Pickerington). Over 17 years I had been near the post office as well as a bigger place along Roberts. Rent is just insane lately so we moved. Congrats on getting a house which can be a stressful process. It’s great that you have a space for the layout and studio. Looking forward to more paintings. And you did a great thing to move where you can help your parents. I am sure they appreciate it and it’s always good to be with them when you can. I lost one but am thankful for many chances to visit in the final months and of course good memories always help get me through.

Appreciate the tour. Never been to that layout but have seen others throughout the state. Always liked the one at Marion with its inclusion of narrow gauge and working (at one time anyways) streetcars. Do you ever get to the big shows at the state fairgrounds? There's always a huge 2 day show in January that always includes several modular club layouts plus each December/April is one that is half model trains and half vintage RR collectibles.

Very cool! Youve gotta nice NEC train for the mid 80s. Id love to see some fast runbys of the patriot would have 2 F40s 6 amfleet 1s and a Club car which would be a phase 3 cafe. Are you lating woodland scenics roadbed? Id love to hear the difference of the diamond on the foam vs cork.
@chatanugadotorg
@chatanugadotorg Жыл бұрын
Actually, I'm not modeling the NEC. Just put all of my Amfleet I and Amfleet II cars on one train for breaking in the new locomotives. My layout's actually loosely based on the former Pennsylvania/PC/Conrail in Mansfield, OH from the mid-70s to mid-90s with a fictional Cleveland-Columbus line crossing the route at the east end of the Mansfield yard. Not using Woodland Scenics roadbed since all of my track is laid on cork. The risers and inclines are being used for scenery. I'm currently working on a video series on my layout that will explain the history, design, construction, and operations of my layout. I'm hoping to start shooting that soon.

Dunno when you were there last, but here are some updates: the bridge over Raccoon Creek has been in place for a few years, and now the rest of the bridges between Moonville and King's Station are in place. I was there in May of 2021 and they were working on them, so I assume they're open for hikers now. They also had bridges put in for construction equipment, down near the water line. I was able to drive over those with my Jeep, which was pretty awesome. I guessing those are gone now. I plan on going back to the area yet again this fall.

When I first went down there in 2012, conditions were just right that while in the tunnel I could hear the sound of vehicles on the road. It was an awesome series. And it's still getting new generations of fans. Back when my brother first brought his girlfriend (now wife) down to my place back in 2007 with her 2-year-old son, I heard that he loved fire trucks. So, when they got here, I fired up Emergency! on my DVR for him. He's been hooked on the show since. He's now 16 and is a junior member of the volunteer fire department that my brother is a captain on. In 2020, he was getting a ride home from school with his grandpa when they came up on a pickup that had gone into a ditch. The driver had suffered a heart attack. Without hesitating, my nephew had the guy out of the truck and was doing CPR on him when help arrived. While the guy didn't make it, my nephew is wanting to go into fire fighting professionally when he graduates from high school. I think he's got what it takes.
