CinqClair has better clash potential and speed with decent dps, but NClair is much more explosive with his damage at the cost of some consistency since he's negative sanity. They're definitely neck on neck in my opinion so no, I won't call people who think NClair is better are coping, he just has competition now. *Those who say that PhilClair is better on the other hand-*
