Chris Wood, also known as The Woodsman or "The Kiwi Lewandowski" (a nickname he received in an interview), is currently in excellent form for both his club and country. He is part of a select group of players who have scored 10 or more goals in each season for the past five years when given consistent playing time. After skipping the Olympics and benefiting from a full pre-season and training with Nuno, he has revitalized his game. His impressive performance has not only helped the club but has also brought success to the New Zealand national team "The All Whites". During the last international break, he scored five goals in two matches, bringing his total to 41 goals in 80 appearances for his country. Additionally, he got married in the summer, and by the end of the season, he and his wife will welcome their first child.

Loads of work behind the scenes by the looks of it, to compliment what's been solid recruitment. Imagine European football in the mix as well, looking very promising
@nichemphill83213 күн бұрын
@@FootballDiaryPodcast For me, a mid-table finish this season would be the ideal goal, and qualification for the European competition would be a bonus. The recruitment surprised many who wrongly expected another madness but it was measured and the signings have excelled. Mr Marinakis is very ambitious, and his goal is to see all his sides in Europe. The investment has benefitted the first team and at every level in the club. The B-TEAM (U21/23) has improved, and the Women's team tops their league. The goal is WSL in the very near future.

With reference to your comments about revenue because of the small ground, you need to understand and look at the bigger picture. Our new training complex should be completed in 2025, not long to wait 😊 There are ongoing talks about the building of a new stadium, more likely to be bulit where the players currently train close to the Vitality stadium. Small steps and a work in progress. Bill Foley ( Owner) has his plans and everyone on board are working towards it. Suddenly we have reached the point where everyone outside of the Bournemouth fanbase are waking up and taking notice after 3 excellent results against top teams. We have no reason to sell players and I don't think Bill Foley will want them to go either. So it is just talk to keep the media happy and throw rumors around. The Andoni way is being fruitful and we aim to do better than last season. It is a great time to be a Bournemouth fan and we see what is happening and the potential that lies within. Up the Cherries 🍒🍒🍒

This year people are going to have to take us seriously again, the potential has been there from last season, we were good defending from open play, it was set pieces that let us down, Milenkovic, and Nuno having a pre season to organise us has made the difference, we are going to ruffle feathers this season.
@harryswift799618 күн бұрын
As a Forest fan ( 0:55 ) I 100% agree, while I was dreaming of this kind of start and season I never really expected it, however while I am loving this I don’t want to get too far ahead, we still have 28 games to go. For me this start is amazing but being realistic I will be happy anywhere 10-14 and not in a relegation battle but I also don’t see us dropping outside the top 10 this season if we carry on like this, this season after this start will show us as Forest fans and the football world what our players are about. Also while trying to remove my own personal bias to NFFC any true football fan can admit it is nice to see a team like us with history ( that our fans talk about too much I know) back in the tops spots of the prem.

You're on the money with your comments here lads. At the start of the season I thought if Milenkovic could be what he has become to the team, then he creates the balance, along with Moreno from Villa. We've got a great squad now, great attitude, a strong bond with the right personalities in the dressing room, and the work ethic and professionalism to keep on going. Good Times ahead! Youuuuu! Its definitely a surprise for me, Ive been a forest fan since I remember, I was born in 73 and was 6 when we won the european cup, I can sort of remember it at the time and remember our house was proper red, me old fella followed us home and away, When I was a kid I thought Brian Clough was a religious figure because when I asked me dad who he was his reply was "hes a god son" Anyways we are punching above our weight despite some of social media getting carried away, I mean tottenham were 1st after ten games last season and I will be happy to avoid relegation and keep my feet solidly on the ground, I cant help dreaming though as thats what football is all about The last time we was in the premier league our captain got sold, our second best striker was shipped off to turkey and our start striker went n strike. This is a whle other ball game and Im enjoying it whilst it lasts

Thanks for the comment, obviously you've been a fan through some proper ups and downs so savour this! We never should have been in a relegation battle last season. Bad injuries to key players, AFCON, some truly dire ref decisions that cost us at least 4 - 6 points and the points deduction and all of the fall out from it was a massive distraction. We do have some very good players and we’ve sorted the embarrassing dead ball goals conceded. But if we finish top 10 I’d be very happy. The PL is one tough league, us Forest fans need to keep our feet in the ground.

Just nice to be enjoying the season 🎉🎉 there's not a single player in the forest squad that I'd swap, I said it at the start of the season, we just needed to sort out the silly mistakes of the last 2 seasons, and get rid of Turner and Vlach was one way to address that. Great transfer business since our promotion. You'd even argue that the scatter gun promotion policy was needed, as it was that that kept us up. Cheers for the video lads.

On the game it was probably Forest's most complete performance, It may have been 3-0 but it could have been more and West Ham looks like a team with no identity, Alverez was sent off (And nearly went down the wrong tunnel)but how Rodriguez's almost ankle-breaker challenge on MGW went unpunished and Cree Summerville who was hooked at half time could have seen red as he lost his head

The Forest Back Four cost £22m- Ola Aina (free) Nikola Milenkovic( £11.8m) Murillo £10.4m Alex Moreno (Loan). The squad has depth in all departments. Ola Aina "Mr Lulu" is a leader in multiple ways you need more than one leader on the pitch. Your opening lines are spot on. As a Forest fan I’m absolutely delighted to be away from relegation. I’m not deluded though we don’t really score enough, never have since we got promoted so realistically we are mid table. However that said, Nuno is building a good “team” the whole squad contribute, and he brings new signings in at the right pace. It’s great to be a Forest fan since Cooper joined us really, just a continued steady improvement. The owner is definitely our driving force, the difference between his leadership and the Kuwaiti’s is stark. He’s got the right people in the right places and demands results for his investment. Marinakis has turned this club around.
