She definitely seems nose heavy, the cg is stock? Keep moving it back 5mm at a time to get a much shower landing speed. 😊

I've got the battery back about as far as it will go. I'm not bothered too much about the faster landing speeds .... as someone that tends to slow down too much, it keeps me in check.

Have you found any batteries to fit besides 300s …only ones I’ve seen is the gnb batteries but I’ve never tried …I couldn’t even use those 2s 600s the long slender ones …I took it back after finding out it only fits 300s …why don’t they make these battery compartments bigger

Sorry about that, I may have overreacted a little bit. I just do this for fun and the love of the hobby,,, nobody pays me to do this,,, and still sometimes I get people giving me a hard time about something I'm basically doing for myself and sharing with anyone else that want to enjoy it. I have a professional grade video camera that has amazing zoom capabilities ... but most of the time I'm the only one at the field and have to use the GoPro if I want to record my flights. Also, to your comment directly "bring the plane down...", this was a maiden flight, I do all maiden flights up high, exactly 3 mistakes high. That's pretty normal. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

Nice Maiden Allen, but geeze louise!!! 30 degrees??? Why ya freezing your nuts off just to Maiden😆? Should've waited for a nicer sunnier day🌞 nice flying site, where exactly is this? And I thynks you took off with no flaps at all,maybe that's why it took longer to go airborne? And I like that short square loop d loop you did, wasn't goofy at all, it was awesomely awesome!! And also when your timer says " 30 seconds" I noticed out in the distance, I even zoomed in, and noticed bigfoot running along the tree line out in the distance about 6 O'clock across from where you're standing. Have you ever had any encounters of it out there?

That's Harriman TN. It was pretty cold that day but I couldn't wait :) Weather here is normally pretty mild ... but we do have some cold days in the winter.

The Freewing 6S 80mm fan unit is pretty weak. That might be why you're noticing it's slightly underpowered.

Yes, this is Eastern Tennessee,,, this is a lot of snow for this area. This was fairly early on, we got a few more inches after this. When we left CA, one of my selection criteria for a place to live was "no snow" ..... so, for me, this is enough.

It's a spektrum 8 ch rx. I'm using the built in gyro that came in the plane. I have a 10 ch Spektrum RX with AS3X+ on the way ... when it gets here I'll take out the Freewing gyro and give every surface it's own channel and then do some fancy mixing like tailerons.

@ I feel like as long as we use spektrum rx with antennas/satellites on freewing planes, we won’t suffer from signal loss like what other pilots have dealt with on their freewing models. The stock gyro looks pretty locked in! Thanks for responding, I def subscribed. I’ll prob save up and get this over the 70/90. 80 is a good size for this bird

This spot is right behind my house.where i learned to fly. There is only one direction for takeoff and landing. Very tight area for 80-90mm jets for sure lol

@deantobe they are doing good for me.they are the yellow label lihv 4s 7700 x2. I have around a dozen flights on them and have good power with longer flight times of 5 minutes with mixed throttle management.

Were do you have your batteries set up at? For the non thrust vector. Its on the top battery tray, for my thrust vector version, its up front all the way. 6s 5200 50c lipos. I got a pair of 6s 5300 120C coming.

Could be over heating. Similar reports online to what you're experiencing. Might make sure that your memory card matches the specs required for your model, this can sometimes cause it. Card sizes that are larger than the maximum allowed storage space can cause over heating in different kinds of tech. Don't ask me why.

I suspect heat too ... it only seems to happen towards the end of longer videos. It was a cold day .... but it was in direct sunlight. Maybe I need to make a little GoPro umbrella :)

It's likely always going to run out of stock very quickly. That's no reason to not order it. Back ordered mine after the first batch went out of stock very quickly. Got mine from the second batch. Order Date: October 13, 2024 Delivered: November 11, 2024.

I'm a lifelong #avgeek and without hesitation I can say that is the best aerial acrobat display I have ever seen! I can appreciate some of those moves are impossible with a piloted acrobatic plane at an airshow, but from the pure "wow factor" this was the best ever. That young man should be sweeping up awards at international RC competitions, I can't imagine he'd have serious competition after what I just witnessed. Signing off now just gobsmacked, can't believe what I just watched!
