Dry pour concrete is much weaker than wet pour. When you pour concrete, you want to pour all of it at once, so it dries all together in one solid piece. If it's a big area, I do it in sections. That way, if the ground shifts, it won't break.

Why does the video imply that the shape of the waterline some how will change the temperature of the water. Water doesn't change temperatures flowing inside different shapes. Why would they word it that way.

Have you had any issues with the drainage? And how deep did you dig your hole?

I dug it about 2 feet deep. I don’t use the shower very often, though. Maybe once every few months. But when I do, I have no issues with flooding.

A little. It's pressure treated ground contact, so I think I'm okay for a few years. But, I'm definitely open to a better solution.

So what happened? Did you not water it enough to begin with or did you not smooth the top enough before you started to water?
@DIYMaverick Жыл бұрын
For dry pouring, I believe you use mortar mix on the top layer to get a smooth finish (no gravel in the mix). I used the gravel mix throughout, so I ended up with pitting on the surface no matter how smooth I tried to get it - I wish I would have put that in the video. Good question.
@MikelMcdaniel Жыл бұрын
@@DIYMaverick I made the same mistake yesterday! If you don't want to buy 2 mixes, you can also strain out the larger pebbles and use that to fill in spots before the last screed. Thanks for posting! I'm gonna look into that mix you used to patch 😅
