Yes that’s the same part. I did a part 2 of the repair since the stepper motor replacement didn’t fix it. There’s a lot of good info in the comments from other’s repairs as well.

If you get inspectors involved, they may cause you more headache than enjoyment of the new build. The top is still on the OEM lift supports with the addition of all the 2x2 studs with stainless pan head screws for support. It’s the same type of framing older campers use. It just has that wood siding instead of fiberglass. It’s definitely more sturdy. In this configuration, it is several hundred pounds lighter than before. Doesn’t sway when being pulled either. Don’t know the insurance question tho. It isn’t technically a pop up anymore but if you are towing it, your auto insurance should cover any damage it causes to others.

I 100% agree. Then comes dealing with those broken exhaust studs. They are tough enough with a V10 on a stand.

That’s great info Mike. I used the brake moly on all the contact surfaces to make sure it quits. That’s pretty annoying to find you have one or two more years of brake life once I got in there.

Dang fella! Your chariot loves the fuel station! This was 65mph on the interstate in the upstate area of South Carolina, so it was hilly. Now let’s help you get that mpg up! 1-Easy acceleration! 2-SPD Y-pipe, no cat converter and Magnaflow muffler(kzbin.info/aero/PLBWgzgzkHG0RR1ZSK2COGfgQ_nrcPc9eY&si=ORL6CnV9UK-iKH3E) 3-good plugs and ACCEL COPs(new OEM ones will do. Don’t use cheap ones tho!) 4- tuner with an 87 performance tune 5-new 4x4 hub bearings up front 6-make sure brakes aren’t dragging. 7-GOTTS mod: that’s notching the header panel to get direct airflow from the grille to the intake snout. This should be a good start. Now that new acceleration feel will hurt your economy at first due to your foot and ears loving the performance. Good luck!

@@HammerWrench im in california so a cat delete is a no go, and I rarely use 4x4 but I'll check my hub bearings anyways. I never thought about notching the headers though, i'll look into that. Thanks for the tips

@JaxxonBlaze69 yes gotta keep that cat for sure! Notch the header panel tho. That holds the grille on. Didn’t want you punching a hole in your exhaust manifold! The Y pipe is the biggest seat of the pants feel. Ford reduced the right exhaust to 1 7/8” at the connection to help keep the rasp sound out. That makes it work harder. Now 3 misfires causes you to dump fuel in 3 cylinders and not get the acceleration. Remedy that guy first. Sitting and idling burns a lot as well!

I would bet it’s the stepper motor slipping in the blend door bore. Try and take it apart and verify. There is a second video if the bore is cracked or stripped.

Yes! That was missing. This car was side swiped in the past so the repair facility must have forgot to put it on. They used a non lsc door and rear quarter and filled in the body molding where the chrome was with bondo. To look like an LSC. That’s why that trim had that black staining.

I think the stepper motor would just force its way thru whatever support the heat shrink gave. One commenter used a small collar of some kind of metal around the white hex bore to keep his from flexing. And it worked. He didn’t leave details of what kind of metal tho. Some have used epoxy in the hex bore and plastic food wrap on the stepper motor stob to keep it from sticking. That way he can service it in the future. Let me know what works. Not many videos on it and there are thousands of viewers looking for an answer that doesn’t cost $2700 at Nissan.
