Wrap 'er up, I'll take her! Of course, I might have to get a job at the dollar store to supplement my Social Security.... As stunning an d huge as the place is (and it is VERY stunning and huge), it's that beautiful street and wonderful decks that, for me, put it over the top! Drop dead gorgeous all the way around!

No infrared sauna, don't bother, dark gothic structure no amount of canned lighting can compensate for Windows staring in to the wall next door and Latin Kings still oppressing the area Not worth it

@@sunnydaysahead9108 LOL! But tell us how you REALLY feel. Windows facing brick walls on the sides don't bother me, though, if the windows in the front and back have a good view. Where I live in a condo (in a different major city), my front windows face a stucco wall eight feet away and my back windows face a stucco wall eleven feet away. I have zero side windows. Both my very nice tiny front porch and my very nice back patio are completely covered, so I not only don't get a view out my window but I also don't get much light. HOWEVER, my neighborhood is full of multi-million dollar older homes and I'm only five miles from downtown (such as it is). Natural light and views were things I was willing to compromise on in favor of low energy bills and a great neighborhood. I guess you're saying, though, that the neighborhood ain't that great...and that would be a major concern to me if I were wealthy.

@@timward3116 It's a nice house but 2.2 ? I been in the area long enough to remember when it was riddled with cockroaches and grafiti Money moves in but it is still very in a problematic area and now what was once looked at as exotic is becoming offensive as very poor people are either bought out for a pittance or forced out by the astronomical property taxes I had several friend who went from $750-1600 a year to $14000 Regular working folks I agree with you location is worth a lot, I rather have a small studio in a central and safe area than something and sprawling where it is a long commute or sketchy to walk Hoyne is still very much in the thick of it I'm just riffing, anyone who can buy it will be happy here .

My family lived on top floor of the James (?) House here when I was born. WAY back in the 1970s. Although I was a baby for most of it, I do remember that sweet view. Oh, and the living room had a white shag rug back then.

It's a great place has a lot of room. The living room is really set up well usually there isn't anywhere that doesn't have a doorway or windows in the way. If I was just starting to buy a home it be one like this one but I'm almost done paying off my house so that's something to look forward to. Thanks for the tour.

Way too much white and light colors. Way too much white in the kitchen. There are windows that you can’t even see out of; why? I don’t care how much a house is, I am not buying an overbearing of a white/light color interior. I don’t need, and am not suggesting lime greens and purples to be satisfied, but more color complementing and color design is better, with Earth tones.

Not sure what they are today. Usually about 2% of the property value and for a unit like this, less than 400 for hoa.

I always get a little depressed when I see all your beautiful homes, John! You make me want to buy one (but I can't because I'd have to move 1,700 miles and make twice as much money). But I do get inspired by your videos to do what I can do to my own 863 square-foot stucco palace. One of the things I always notice about the homes you show is that nothing is cheap or flimsy; everything is built to last. Thick tall doors with four hinges, soft-close drawers, impeccable floors, plenty of closets, and just an overall feeling that the house will be there 200 years from now and still look good. Love your channel!

Wow, the HOA fee alone is ten times my HOA fee (for a condo) and three times my mortgage (obviously, I don't live in Chicago). On the other hand, my entire condo is smaller that this building's total closet space. What a great place, though! I love seeing buildings like this. Real character, great finishes and design, and impeccably staged. Ten out of ten.
