I do my own nails. I have for years. I was using polymer gel. I got infected, badly. That was about 2 years ago. I have gross photos. I started doing my nails again & got infected again. Not as bad this time. I used acrylic. They must be adding new chemicals that they didn't use in the past. It DOES need to be investigated.🥹

I started to do my own nails and after a few times I already started a reaction like your foto . My thumb looked the same . I never knew you could have an allergic reaction that much . Since then I hear a lot of people have the same thing . If you order from shein temu and do your nails yourself . Nobody talks about it and I can’t believe you knew this already . I hope more people watch your video

I still come back to this video every single time I need to clean and refill my oil pens! So grateful this video is here! I use a regular butter knife from the silverware drawer to pop off the two ends. Much less risk of slippage and injury!

I’ve developed an allergy, It breaks my heart to know I can’t do my nails on a regular bases. So really to sum it up, you can develop an allergy from all aspects from these chemicals, from dust, to breathing the dust in, to the lamp, to the bin, to the cotton pads having these chemicals on them, to having any contact to these chemicals, one way or another. Not good for the you or your nail technician. So really, just stay away from doing your own nails or do them far n between. And don’t cut/file your skin around the cuticles and skin as this a faster way of getting these chemicals into your skin/body faster.

In Australia. I had started building fake nails at home using gel. I tried a different builder gel one day than I broke a nail! Half The nail underneath come away from the nail bed, and within seven days I developed a rash around my nails than the itching.... Like torture!! Than small blisters! I removed the nails, all but two because they did not have a problem. Than the itchy blisters started to join and become bigger, my skin got so dry and thick, I could not feel sensation at tips, than come the painful splitting. Fingers tips so dry that the skin literally split open and felt like paper cuts. Than the peeling, from fingertips to the second joint! It's been weeks now, and blisters and rash have moved to my hand, elbow and knees! Although my fingers are worse the one that is still by far the most effected, is the one I broke.

I did my own nails for about 6 months. I initially used acrylic powder and monomer, then I switched to polygel. My fingers started to itch and burn, started with only one thumb and seemed like just one itchy bump. Gradually I started to feel itchy on my fingers all around my cuticles. They started to swell and make blisters. I removed the nails immediately. Then my nails started to tear away from my nail beds. And finally my fingers started to crack and peel thick layers off. It’s incredibly painful. It’s been about 4 weeks and still not healing well. Just keep peeling and then the new skin cracks and peels again leaving my finger tips sore and sensitive again. I love nail art and the ability to be creative with these artificial nails but honestly I think products seriously need to be relooked at if they are so dangerous to have on your hands!! It just doesn’t make any logical sense to be walking around with such toxic product on your hands. I never knew it was so toxic.

I am so glad I saw this video. The nails are beautiful! I am just a beginner, and I have been trying to learn how to use mica powders and I've watched several videos, but they don't always explain if you should cure the polish, or if you should top coat before you apply the powders, or after you apply the powders. You explained exactly what should be done and when it should be done, and I love that! Now I'm a little more confident in what I'm doing. Thank you so much! 🎉

I’m sorry, but nobody can tell me that all those icky artificial nail chemicals don’t affect your nails and your body for that matter. Your nails DO absorb chemicals. Not good for you.

My opinion has changed very much since I filmed this video and I agree with you 100%. I now don’t even use gel polish/acrylic etc on my nails. There are only 2 brands of regular nail polish I will use as they are safe and free from any endocrine disruptors or carcinogens. I’m thinking about doing a video about it to update what I’ve learnt and share with others.

A question maybe someone can answer... If there is an allergic reaction, is it an option to do a manucure on press on and then glueing them onto your nails? Once they are cured obviously and only then glueing them onto the nails
@JuleyCАй бұрын
Yes but you must wear gloves, good ones that you purchase from a pharmacy. I do like she suggests with a bamboo set under the plastic ones.

This is a very bad video. It doesn’t IN ANYWAY explain where allergies come from or how to prevent them. IF you’re putting gel onto your nails and not curing it properly YOU ARE DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY. Not just that .. acrylates, HEMA, and the uncured components go into your body every time. It’s not safe. Period.
