the only thing i want to my fpc is an extended (thicker) magwell to get rid of those damn mag spacers.. talked to Floyd’s months ago and they were thinking about it, but never delivered … i hate those spacers and it pinches my hand on just about every reload.. removing them may cause over insertion of the mags .. to boot, i have a full size m&p pistol , and i’d have to remove the adapter to use the mags , stupidest thing S&W did when designing this rifle , well aside from designing it with an adapter to also use glock mags if desired … they would sell TONS more … but they’re not that smart…

It looks like you have the scope mount on backwards so you can get the proper eye relief. I've decided to do something a little different and bought/will install a "scout scope", the Vortex 2-7x. It looks like it will fit perfectly within the length of the handguard too. It has about a 9-10" eye relief. It should work quite nicely.

FPC has an advantage of having a shorter OAL because the mag feeds into the pistol grip and has the on board storage for 2 additional mags. I already own the FPC (bought it when it was first released.), so there is no reason to buy the response.

Hi 22LR good defense ?? What is the best 22LR ammunition for defense in 2024? Which manufacturer makes a good Colt 1911 22lr model in 2024? Quality Weapon accuracy Durability Regards Arthur Warsaw
@metasin68 күн бұрын
The gsg 1911 .22 is probably the fair priced (reasonable) handgun at around 300$ since others are overpriced simply due to brand names when they are on par with gsg quality or sub par with unsure specs likes recoil spring strength and slide weight which cause cycling issues. I understand the gsg slide is made with a lighter/softer metal and for good reason. It cycles some higher quality standard veloc. Rounds and loves really hot rounds from premium tier rounds like federal punch and cci stingers which definitely add to the viability of the gun being a self defense adjacent piece. Especially with the full sized 1911 build boasting a 5” barrel which unlike most newer, innovative .22 pistols unless you includes the browning .22 series which is more of a collectors .22 piece these days. The gsg comes with a plethora of after market options ranging from mag upgrades to accuracy kits made specifically for this model. On the other and even more positive side of mods, it is compatible with virtually every basic 1911 accessory meaning you can of course get a very wide range of grips, mag wells, hammers, safety switches, barrel bushing kits, triggers and most important; ALL NOVAK STYLE 1911 SIGHTS. I think most models come with threaded barrels and there is one that has an under rail for a fully tactical 1911 build that go well with employing fast self defense designed rounds with the general lower recoil of a .22 while still being above average in the .22 pistol field in terms of muzzle energy. Federal punch and cci stingers were a miracle creation for this gun considering the amount of testing vids for these rounds perform really well in typically shorter barrels that most people use. I own one myself and have a muzzle flash hider installed since it creates a considerable fireball and might make on-lookers second guess it being a .22lr chambered pistol. Reliable material for a .22 at a cheaper price than most for pure versatility and room to just experiment is well worth it. A certified “+p” .22lr handgun designed to maximize top shelf .22lr potential

I love my FPC, but it’s awkward to fire using a traditional red dot due to the extended eye relief. How did you like your taccom 3G rail that mounts over the FPC receiver, as opposed to mounting on the handguard? I’m hoping one of those, by bringing my scope closer to me, will resolve the relief problems and make it even better. Thanks again for another good video.
@hollowpointdefense9 күн бұрын
I removed the Taccom rail a while ago, it didn't work for me. One the red dot, I have had absolutely no issues with eye relief at all, no matter where I put it. What RD are you using.
@hollowpointdefense9 күн бұрын
I forgot to answer your other question. I prefer the RD on the handguard.
@umat69919 күн бұрын
@@hollowpointdefense Thanks for the replies. I noticed you weren't running the T3G mount on your FPC any longer. I'm currently using a Sig ROMEO5 and it just seems sooooo far away from my eye when aiming. Plus, I have astigmatism, so no RDS is "great" for me, personally, due to starburst effects. I switched to prism optics (goodbye astigmatism problem!) a while back and have accumulated several Primary Arms prism scopes. I picked up my last SLx 1X Gen 1 recently, on clearance for a steal, and plan on using it on the FPC. Just holding it in place on the FPC where it would be positioned with the Taccom mount installed, it seems it will give me me perfect eye relief and distance. I have a second SLx 1X Gen 1 on a Ruger PC Charger and it's like they were built for each other. I'm hoping for the same success with the FPC form factor. I have a few other Taccom parts, originally ordered for my PCC, just laying around that could also fit on the FPC. Might create myself a little S&W&T3G Frankenstein. 😄 Thanks, again for the feedback.
@ecobasetech45587 күн бұрын
@@umat6991RDS don't have eye relief or it's "unlimited". However, prisms do. I currently have the PA SLX 1x and as long as you have it mounted as far back on the pistol c rail, it's fine for me. But everyones eyes are different. If that is still too far forward for you, I believe it comes with offset adapters that should position the prism farther back (it may hang over the receiver) that should help with the proper eye relief distance
@umat69917 күн бұрын
@@ecobasetech4558 maybe I’m not using the right terminology. It’s the long distance to a rail-mounted RDS that I don’t like. It WORKS, but doesn’t inspire confidence. I have several PA prism optics and use varying spacer and cantilever combinations depending upon the platform. For me, using the FPC, moving the entire scope closer with the Taccom saddle mount is preferable. Thanks for the input 🙏🏼.

The California version of both weapons requires a “fin grip”. The fin grip for the FPC is only provided by Turners Outdoors. The fin grip for the Response may be provided by multiple outlets. In either case, the Response fin grip looks very uncomfortable. The fin grip for the FPC looks to be more manageable. If you are in a state that requires this grip style, be sure to check each one out in the store. Obviously, the grip is a super important part of the weapon.
