Thank you for using a Fireplace X Product! There are many factors that can affect the burn time of a wood burning appliance. The type of wood, moisture content of the wood, and how you are operating the fireplace all have an affect. Make sure you are burning clean, dry wood. After you have gotten the appliance warmed up, consider utilizing the air control lever to slow the burn down and achieve longer burn times. Use smaller pieces of wood to get the fire started and warm the appliance up, then use larger pieces of wood stacked tightly together to establish longer burns and overnight burns. Differences in chimney height and draft can lower burn times. Does the glass stay clean?

Please start by reviewing your owners manual to make sure that you are operating the appliance correctly. There are instructions for starting a fire, maintaining a fire, reloading, and proper utilization of the bypass and air control. Many factors can affect the fire including how you are operating the appliance, as well as the actual fuel itself that is being burned. Other brands call it a zero clearance, although they require an inch and a half clearance around the stove. Do you sell anything like that? I would be building a frame for it to sit in.

Yes, the only difference is the presence of the catalytic combustor. This brings benefits like lower emissions, higher efficiencies, and longer burn times over non-catalytic stoves. NexGen-Fyre units still provide the best non-catalytic burn available with a balanced fire and immense heat output, but the additional efficiency from the Hybrid units qualifies them for a 30% tax credit.

One more question - I am currently working with a dealer and originally was looking at the medium flush wood NexGen-Fyre but they sent me an estimate for the NexGen-Hybrid model. Is the hybrid model actually in production? The sales rep said Travis Industries will start making them at the end of NOV and ship them out late DEC.

That unit is currently in production. It may just be a case of stock availability for that particular area/dealer.

With the August 16, 2022, signing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), high-efficiency biomass heating products once again qualify for a tax credit under Section 25(C) of the Internal Revenue Code (“IRC” or “tax code”). This new 30 percent tax credit - capped at $2,000 annually - is available for appliances installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032. The credit can be used on the purchase and installation costs of qualifying appliances. To be eligible for the tax credit, an appliance must have a thermal efficiency of at least 75 percent per the higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel.

Good question! There is a lever located on the front of the stoves called the air control lever. Depending on the model, it is either located on the left or in the middle. By manipulating this lever, (pushing in or pulling it out), you can control the burn rate to a very fine degree. With a cold stove, one trick you can try is dipping a damp newspaper in ash from the stove and wiping the glass down with that.

If you watch it closely the flame will drop down when it is within 2 degrees of the desired temp you set. When the room temp hits the set temperature it will shut down.
