I would venture to say that less than 70% of those people burning firewood properly store and season it. When it’s cold people burn anything, which leads to catalytic chambers being ruined.

How do you control heat output and burn time?

Good question! There is a lever located on the front of the stoves called the air control lever. Depending on the model, it is either located on the left or in the middle. By manipulating this lever, (pushing in or pulling it out), you can control the burn rate to a very fine degree. Is the only difference between NexGen-Hybrid and NexGen-Fyre the presence of a catalytic combustor in the hybrid version? Follow up question, would that make the NexGen-Hybrid better than NexGen-Fyre since they both have secondary air tubes in the top of the firebox/same technology but the hybrid has a catalytic combustor?

Yes, the only difference is the presence of the catalytic combustor. This brings benefits like lower emissions, higher efficiencies, and longer burn times over non-catalytic stoves. NexGen-Fyre units still provide the best non-catalytic burn available with a balanced fire and immense heat output, but the additional efficiency from the Hybrid units qualifies them for a 30% tax credit.

One more question - I am currently working with a dealer and originally was looking at the medium flush wood NexGen-Fyre but they sent me an estimate for the NexGen-Hybrid model. Is the hybrid model actually in production? The sales rep said Travis Industries will start making them at the end of NOV and ship them out late DEC.

That unit is currently in production. It may just be a case of stock availability for that particular area/dealer.

With the August 16, 2022, signing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), high-efficiency biomass heating products once again qualify for a tax credit under Section 25(C) of the Internal Revenue Code (“IRC” or “tax code”). This new 30 percent tax credit - capped at $2,000 annually - is available for appliances installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032. The credit can be used on the purchase and installation costs of qualifying appliances. To be eligible for the tax credit, an appliance must have a thermal efficiency of at least 75 percent per the higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel.

Other brands call it a zero clearance, although they require an inch and a half clearance around the stove. Do you sell anything like that? I would be building a frame for it to sit in.
