My 97 SC2500 12Valve begs to differ although it is gutted. My 94 SC3500 12valve would be there to pull you out the ditch. Together, they'd rip your daddies car apart with the +3k ft/lbs of torque.

What some folks don’t realize it that the v10 and Cummins shared motor mounts and bell housing. So if you find one with a V10 and wanna do a Cummins swap it’s all straight across.

Because it's not meant to be a hot rod man. It's a work truck. That actually came with more power than the Cummins. Did when at first came out? I have a 96...5 speed 2500 long bed extended cab 208000 miles. Doesn't leak anything doesn't burn Oil runs like a sewing machine. Have owned about 45 vehicles in my life. And this one has been the most reliable.Have owned it for twelve years... only don't Drive it every day , cause she does get eight miles a gallon...

I had a charger R/T that got outrun a few times by diesels. Fast is subjective but I think that’s pretty decent.

Crazy how much engines have advanced. A mustang 5.0 with mods can make 600hp

I went from 7.3 to 6.4 to 6.7 and now have a 6.0 for my cattle hauling. I’ve gotten away from the 7.3’s due to metal fatigue and other age related issues. I have 1 6.7 left because I’ll never get enough out of it to justify how much it cost me to constantly repair so it’s the backup beater. I’ve still got my 6.4 daily driver going on 11 years of loving it. The older fords were amazing and the 6.0 made it to 199k on factory head bolts

I just recently swapped out my memory 6.0 to the Ford 6.0 Long Block over anew 5.9 I6. Best decision i made. After bulletproofing it, I wouldn't trade my 2004 f250 6.0 lb for nothing.

You can make the same argument for 8100 vortec Chevy's. They're just weren't a lot around and during that time is when people really got onto the diesel thing

The 90’s were the infancy of truck performance. It wasn’t until the early 2000s when people really started turning diesel trucks up, and started messing with nitrous and forced induction on gas trucks. When the truck performance wars started around 2004 with the Ford F150 Lightning and the Dodge SRT10 truck, that is when the aftermarket for trucks really started to take off. Unfortunately, the old V10 Ram trucks never got love due to the poor cylinder head flow, and the heavy cast iron castings. In 2004 I almost traded my 2003 Dodge SRT4 for a Dodge SRT10 truck. The dealership would not let me test drive the truck though and for me, that was a deal breaker.
