From all the research I’ve done (260 lbs), I’m going to save a little and get the Kinect XR ($270 on Amazon). Unfortunately, for us bigger guys, you have to spend more to get the suspension we need. I definitely won’t be getting the Zoom. The Suntour doesn’t look like it’s for heavier riders, either. Thanks for your perspective.

You didn’t read the instructions about the speed being regulated at first for training purposes so a new rider doesn’t kill themselves. Riding a tricycle, electric or not requires a different mindset when riding. After 4-5 miles you get the hang of it. My Lectric trikes for my wife and myself came last august. I’ve put a couple hundred miles on mine and find it absolutely wonderful. My wife doesn’t have a problem either. The bike will go at 13.7 to 13.8 all the time if you adjust the computer in the instructions. I have had zero problems other than a flat tire caused by a stone that was shaped like a dagger. Glad my car or truck didn’t find that rock first. My wife and I are in our mid 70’s and we are not light weight folks either. We love our Lectric Trikes and so glad that we purchased them. Tell your mother to get out on it and get use to it. Need to stay out of gutters with just one rear wheel. We have never tipped over but a deep gutter will give you the feeling that you might tip. Never have yet. We have ridden 22 miles with no pedaling, battery only, and still had a good deal of battery in reserve. I have had my trike up to 25-26 miles an hour downhill. That’s a little faster than I really care to go. The power in the motor is exceptional. I went up a steep incline out of a marina on the Hudson River which was about 50+ degrees. It carried my heavy butt up that hill with no pedal assist at about 8 miles an hour. I was very impressed.

I was born there and spent a lot of time riding around Grafton on bike as well as walking around it. This brings back many fond memories for me. Thanks for sharing the tour. My Grandparents lived only a couple of houses up from the High School. They managed the Furniture store and owned the B & B Paint store. My uncle owned the Capri Pizza shop and Manos Theatre across from the Mothers Day Church.

I have an Oraimo Scrambler 100, attempted to install the Hafny handlebar mirrors. Started with right side, had to cut the rubber out of the end of the bar as shown in your video. Inserted the stem for the mirror, but it wouldn't go in all the way. Pushed in as far as I could, and it got in far enough, but the bolt at the end of the stem got disconnected, so now the screw has nothing to tighten into. And I am unable to pull out the piece of stem that is still stuck inside my handlebar. Ugh!! Tried everything to get it out, needle nose pliers, etc. Epic fail!!!

I was looking at KZbin video's of the many different suspension seat posts, and ended up choosing ordering Suntour NCX, so it will be a few days before it arrives, but as one fellow put it, you 'get what you pay for' so I thought I'd spend a little extra, for longevity. I'm around the 180 lb mark, so I won't need it adjusted too much more than it's default, but the Suntour NCX seems to have good reviews, yet there are a couple one being Redshift, the other Kninekt suspension seat posts, on the more extreme cost end. Nonetheless, I chose the best for what I believe is 'bang for the buck' for my riding style, which is pathways, roadside bike paths, and some off-road trails. I've got some longer rides upcoming, so I'll be doing some of my own testing, and crossing my fingers as to a positive outcome. One thing mentioned on the 'spring' style, being that the distance from seat to pedal changes, as the seat moves up and down, and they say that can be difficult if you're riding where the extremes of the up/down on a very bumpy trail can affect your pedalling, where the fulcrum in using the Suntour has some back/forth motion with a little up/down making the distance from seat to pedal much less. Thanks for the video, and you did just fine in front of the camera, giving us good detail in what you where doing, and you own review of the post, so much appreciated!

So im considering getting this bike and i am a bigger guy about 260lbs do you think it will perform well with me?
@ReflectionsofOurLife4 ай бұрын
What type of terrain do you ride on? How tall are you? If you are on fairly flat ground and if you are around 6’ tall then this will be a fun bike! The full suspension and seat are very comfortable. I’m 300lbs and around 6’ on fairly flat ground it works great. My 6’3” friend loved it but he’s also under 230lbs. Because the seat height isn’t adjustable, the taller you are the harder it is to be comfortable pedaling. For a 500watt motor it is surprisingly quick. If you have steep hills you ride on, I would get something with a bigger motor…at least 750watts.

How hard is to just peddle it with no assist?
@ReflectionsofOurLife4 ай бұрын
It’s similar to riding a regular bike. Because it has 3 wheels and is a little heavier than a 2 wheel bike it’s a bit harder. If you are on fairly level ground it’s not bad at all. My 70 something mother can pedal it without the battery pretty well on flat ground.

In this corner, weighing 360 pounds, the Giddy Up saddle with the 12 inch 'wings' would be my choice with a shock absorbing seat post too. I have sure become soft since my 18 wheeler drafting days back in the 1970's!! My vintage Cannondale has a ladies saddle. 330 pounds seems to be the max weight on the electric folding bikes. What abandoned railroad is that you're riding on? I ordered a trike which was delivered in 9 days! No damage on mine. I've only ridden it once around the yard as the intense March winds just won't slack off. Anxious to get it out to our local state park!

Hi @raylrodr…I appreciate you stopping by!! This particular rail trail is called White Oak Rail Trail in Oak Hill West Virginia. I believe it was once owned and operated by the B&O railroad. I didn’t ride the full length in this video but it is a very nice rail trail and runs through a park, outskirts of the town and ends in the countryside.

YES! You must adjust the angle of the seat on the new Zoom post! Just match up the angle from the old seatpost first! But finally someone has shown us the best procedure to check the tension you went 13 turns clockwise and I noticed it was still bottoming out! So I decided that on my wife's suspension seatpost I'm going to crank it almost all the way because she weighs twice as much as I do and I'm going to start mine in the stock position and go from there I weigh 175lbs!

I’m sure there are shorter videos out there that people with small attention spans will like better. Mine is mainly a rider video channel and not a, this is how you do it, channel with nothing else to say. Sorry this video was bad enough for you to take time to give such a negative response.

Lies about having to go slow and being careful on a Trike, a Trike is more stable than any 2 wheel bikes. I'm 73 years old and wish I had my Catrike Dumont 50 years ago. No neck pain, no shoulder pains, no wrist pains, no lower back problems anymore, and the most important thing is NO MORE BRUISING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF BLOOD CLOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ReflectionsofOurLife6 ай бұрын
*Lies* is a pretty strong term @SFCRambo60! On a regular trike with the one wheel in the front can be tricky going over a hump or bump sideways. It also has a much higher center of gravity that the one you have. I feel way more comfortable going over humps and sideways across hills on a 2 wheel bike as compared to the one I tried out. Now yours with the 2 wheels in the front with the low center of gravity would be much better I'm sure. But different people are going to have different experiences on the same bike based on their comfort riding bikes of any kind. As I always say...it really is all up to the person and their preferences as to whether they like a certain bike or not. But I give you a lot of credit getting out there and biking at 73. I hope I still love it at that age.
@SFCRambo606 ай бұрын
@@ReflectionsofOurLifethat's apples to oranges, the recumbent trike has the wheel behind ( Tadpole). The trike you're pushing is a completely different and used to go to the store. So when you twist the truth and come up with a 3 wheel bike that you setup on, that's not a recumbent trike and you still might get blood clots between your legs and they are dangerous but not the Tadpole Recumbent Trike where your sitting like in a recliner.
@ReflectionsofOurLife6 ай бұрын
What truth am I twisting? I said your “tadpole” would be much better. And I’m not pushing the trike. I was just riding a trike that my mother purchased and letting people know how I liked it. That’s all that I was doing. I’m sorry if I upset you in any way. I’m also not a doctor so I can’t recommend anything as giving or not giving blood clots. I have had blood clots and I’m currently on blood thinners to keep from getting them. But that wasn’t the point of the video.
@SFCRambo606 ай бұрын
I own a Catrike Dumont and have had no problems that you mentioned. My ride is so smooth and comfortable that I will never go back to any 2 wheel bike.
@ReflectionsofOurLife6 ай бұрын
Hi @SFCRambo60! I hadn't heard of the bike you have but looked it up. Very nice design with the 2 wheels in the back! I also like the low center of gravity it has which makes it very stable. But it has a pretty hefty price tag for regular people like myself. The Trike that I was doing the video on was a $1400 bike and actually rides fairly decent based on the price for it. But I would recommend the Catrike over a regular trike any day.

Watching this video the author did not realized yet that instead of raising the over 65 pound e-bike manually with his partner, he can do this operation without any physical effort. Simply raise vertically the tote and slide the foldable ebike in and then fold the handle post outside the tote. Then in the last stage using a foldable car dog ramp enough wide matching the 21-in wide tote you slide the bin w/ the bike inside your trunk. One will have a space for sliding this way a second foldable heavy e-bike) inside any SUV as well. There are few videos describing this easier, no lift transporting heavy e-bikes like Lectric XP.
@ReflectionsofOurLife6 ай бұрын
Great information! Thank you for that. I really hadn't thought of using ramps and tilting the totes but this does sound like a great way to load the bikes...especially if you have trouble lifting the weight!
